last two entries 18 sep and 23 feb. Why did he leave it unfinished when he made such a good game? why did he give up on such a game?

My best guess would be some type of social anxiety paired with burnout and also the fact that he was having a hard time developing the "technical" aspect of the game, what he liked doing was the art, but apparently the coding side of things was becoming overwhelming to him. Plus add to that the other fact that the vision he had for his game was very ambitious.
Either way though, it's a damn shame. Hope we can hear from him again at some point, this game (and Zenkuro as a developer) had lots of potential.

Still, let's try to not be assholes, remember that a lot of other devs have done the same thing as Zenkuro, putting their games on indefinite pauses without telling anyone about it, but they also kept raking in money from absent-minded patrons who never unsubscribe from anything ever for some reason. The fact that he's going out of his way not to exploit people in this manner which has become so normalized in this community should count for something. Personally it makes me wanna give him the benefit of the doubt, and also wanna welcome him with open arms if he ever decides to resume development of his game and explain what happened in the future.

This is all assuming he's not working on ANLIS at the moment, but even I don't know if that's the case...

Godspeed Zenkuro, hope you're doing okay. If it actually is that you're having anxiety of some kind (which you really don't need to be feeling, but that sort of stuff is outside of our control most of the time), remember you can always try your hand at game development again on some other game, under a different pseudonym. There's this one guy in this community who did that a bunch of times, and people either never noticed or we all played dumb (Koblas/SoftDream co./etc.).
And if you don't feel like making games again, then thank you for what you've already made as it is amazing anyways, even if it did end up being cut short in the end. Feels weird saying this about a foot fetish porn game of all things, but you really made art, you should feel proud.

Couldn't say better.

The only fact he paused his patreon made him earn my respect. None other fdom game dev has ever did that since i joined the community (or i'm not aware of him)

Honestly, even with only two updates, his game is better than 90% of the fdom games on this site. So yeah, as you said, he should be proud. ( And that's probably why people are so frustrated about the abandon, dude had a litteral raw diamond between his hands )

I concur with the sentiement currently expressed here.

The other part is that I have little free time that I can dedicate to the project at any given day, and as much as I'd like to be more involved with the community (especially on my discord server), I really can't afford to, because it ends up becoming a much bigger time sink than it seems at first glance.

Please keep in mind that this is a hobby, I'm neither a programer nor an artist. I'm working on this alone, part-time, and I try to shoot for quality (to the best of my abilities at least), which comes at a cost.
A shame, this may be a goldmine you struck on that you could explore more for everyones benefit. Artwork is breathtaking and the dialogue is decent enough to let the player be sucked in.

My take is to focus on the twelve girls almost exclusively. While there is a slight charme to the setting, the school and the side characters, it isn't anything special we haven't seen before. At worst, it just sucks up pointless time moving through the empty school with pointless rooms and NPCs, doing laborous sidequests until the next h-scene. I imagine building the school and the sidecharacters take way too much time to be worth it. Get the 12 main girls done one after one and I highly suspect interest in your game raises immensely.

But I guess further encouraging you is out of question, since you treat this as a side gig (and who knows how busy you are IRL), so whatever. You do your thing.
Dude could have gotten thousands of dollars every month like every other bigger developer but seemed to focus on his RL, likely wants a stable job and education and not relying on some short-term porno game money. He plainly stated this is secondary for him and stayed that way, showing integrity and honesty, which is less and less appreciated I found the older I become.

One way to success is having a contradictive idea that no one else has, but that idea is right. There is a undeveloped demand for these games and ideas and if you invest in these, you can make it big. But you need to pursue them 100% and its a risk. Maybe he doesn't want his live dedicated on porno femdom games or/and went quickly out of steam.

Even after all this time he still got 177 patreons. The worst thing about this is that Zenkuro had the money to get more people involved who can do the more annoying and boring tasks for him.
This game had huge potential and his Patreon could have easily made him 3-4k each month. Enough for him to hire 2-3 assistants to develop it for him or in the alternative actually quit his job and work on the game full time. Sadly he is very amibitious and he refuses to accept help. He wants to do it all by himself which is a really stupid idea because if you look at the development speed the estimated time of release would be 2040.

Last we heard of Zenkuro, was many months ago. Game is on indefinite hiatus (Or was), whether or not it's cancelled is anyone's guess. Zenkuro was reportedly dealing with IRL stuff. He apparently was still sketching and doing arts for the game. Then again, it was months ago. Zero news from Zenkuro himself.

If you dig a bit into the thread, you could see said sketches. It was promising, but the radio silence is definitely not encouraging.
