Normally I don`t play male MC games but I do like College ones for the shits and giggles. This one has plenty of drama and some pretty good emotional moments.
The complex relationship between our sweet, naive MC and Ashley with their lost childhood friendship and the pain of being apart was portrayed well during the phone call and bus scenes.
Jade`s character seems like she`s a sex addict who got into the sex industry much too young, but is it sex addiction? or maybe search for intimacy or feelings but in the wrong way?
Jenny`s character...I love her character and look, she gives so much of herself to others but tries to hide her depression and sadness inside.
I so want MC to give her some happiness in return, she deserves it, but Ashley is completely in love with the MC and that makes it so hard to choose for our boy.
This game has fantastic, realistic and flawed characters, amazing renders, plus great music...the poignant main theme "hello love" fits just perfect...and the subjects it touches on from peer pressure, personal grief, prostitution, family troubles etc. all adds up to an emotional rollercoaster of a game.
I expected just another silly, lighthearted College game but really did not expect to have a lump in my throat at times. This feels like the most mature of the College games on here.
I only have one complaint. The phone sucks...it`s ui is so clunky and easy to forget to check it as there is no visual clue you got a new message. Really could do with improvement.
Other than that, AOA Academy is a fantastic game that really can hit you emotionally and might just relate to your own past in some way.
I recommend it highly.
