Slow burn AVNs live and die by the strength of their characters and how invested you can become in their stories. Summer's Gone has no sexual content yet, but is beloved despite that and has slightly more updates than A.O.A. If the LI stories grow stale, formulaic, or otherwise don't hold much emotional weight in A.O.A. while retaining a slow burn, then interest will probably begin to wane. I'm optimistic that with good writing this won't be a problem.

Which is one of those things i've never understood about the adult VN community.

There are a handful of good writers in the amateur AVN space but...

If a lengthy interesting plot with unpredictable twists, great characterization, and a large body of content is what you're looking for why are you trying to find it in a space filled with amateur writers, the same (or lightly edited) oversexualized Daz3D models, and predictable (or straight up nonsensical) plots?

There are myriad forms of media by professional creators that will give you everything you're looking for to a higher degree of quality minus the adult content, or lack thereof in the case of some VNs.

This is the rift i've noticed personally lurking this forum. The split between guys that... for some reason refuse to just read/watch a good book/movie series vs. the people who only see VNs as niche variety porn. The two camps seem to disagree across this forum daily on the direction of most VNs.

The main problem of those games/stories it's that many dev just see an occasion to make some money. When you see that some guys can get more than 20 000 a month you understand why.
So most of thoe games are just copy paste stories with the same models, the same settings, the same props and so on.
Sometime you get a good writing, but it's quite rare, devs prefer to use standardized plots that already got success like the over abused school setting, returning young guy who fucks his family, father killed by goons and many other such clichés!

Mini-game BS aside, I only played the game for one LI and after through hoop after hoop for 7 chapters and what I think is a very bad story, I had enough. With this game I get my main LI quickly and I hope to the VN Gods that no bullshit with Adam comes in-between me and her.

To me, that party is the biggest thing bothering me with this game and Adam's involvement with the MC's life. Chapter 3 is going to make or break whether or not I continue with this game.

Adam's going to fuck over Jenny, which means the MC will probably have to be involved in helping her, keeping his attention away from whoever he wants, in my case, Ashley. I think, in that way, he'll fuck with the MC as well as Jenny, and possibly go after whoever the MC is involved with..? Speculation it is but it seems plausible.

I think many of us hope to find those "diamonds in the rough," and encourage their development. There is something of value in supporting the "homegrown amateur" developer. For many, I think it is also the interaction, either here or on the developer's own forums, where we can get a glimpse of the creative process.

lol Well, I enjoy a good story and characters with depth and complexities, so it doesn't really matter who the creators are in terms of their actual profession (whether they are professional or amateur writers). I mean, why would that even really matter as long as I am entertained by a good story and compelling characters?

As long as the story & characterization grips the individual (me, the one who experiences it) that's all that matters, so the form of entertainment itself (whether it's a movie, book, comic, game, as well as AVN games) I feel is of no consequence.

Following along what you guys have been saying, I do hope as well that the party will be interesting enough to keep people engaged in the story.

That is, for it to have more conflict involving Adam, and more sexy times with my beloved Jenny, during and/or after the party's chaos ensues. Or whatever it is that's going to go down.

I don't know, maybe we'll get the chance to slap Jenny's brother ín the face or something and things will get violent with his bodyguard intervening. (Hence, why I once suggested for the MC to learn some kind of martial art.)

Oh i guess how the party will go on. There will be some polite discussions, some dance, then Adam will make his speech and announce the bad news.
Jenny will certainly get mad and there will be some scandal then she will storm out with you and the girls and you will have to think about how to solve this problem. Punching Adam would be the most stupid thing to do, prove that you are a dumbass peasant who thinks he can solve his problems by punching people!! He would press charges against you and you would find yourself in jail the next day. Expelled from the college, stuck in a cell waiting for Jenny to pay to get you out and with no place to go.

We can just hope that jenny will keep her house, but as Adam said it's not sure, maybe you will all have to go live in a hotel and start to look for a job, maybe in Jenny's restaurant.

I haven't played for a long time, so I had to forget things. But Jenny explains that she has personal resources (like the restaurant). She used the family's money to invest in her own name. So if her brother succeeds in removing her from the inheritance, she will still have comfortable financial resources.

However, we do not know what will happen with the university. If she doesn't keep her power over college (shared with her brother), it's going to be hard for her and everyone close to her.

I think it went very quickly between the MC and her. Even though they're supposed to take it easy, they're together, and it's a serious relationship (it's not a one-night stand).

It's weird compared to the game and the story. It feels like there will be the Ashley part with some romance, and a classic student life. On the other side, there will be the part Jenny and her proteges, with the drama, the problems of the girls.

Knowing that we can also choose Jenny or the girls as LI (more or less, rather say that for the moment we can not choose Ashley).

I have the impression that in the game we have on one side Ashley and her friends, and on the other Jenny and her proteges. Ashley side for now it's just romance with or two others. While Jenny's side, we have the interesting story arcs, and the potential romances. I don't know how the dev is going to balance or mix this up.

If it is a thing that she has to go somewhere for something, my MC is going to live like a monk because I'm not having him touch any other girl. In storyline, they had missed opportunities back in Old Town, and I'm not going to have him miss them again that's for damn sure.

Just want to see how things develop but this is the only game in my armory right now that stands on shaky ground. One bad thing preventing my MC being with Ashley is definitely going to detour it into a ditch.

Thank god someone else noticed what Adam said was bullshit, and either he's stupid or the dev went a little too far and if he does leave Jenny penniless it will make no sense.

As I wrote a while ago, Jenny's house and restaurant are HERS. She bought them with her own money, the money that had been given to her by her adoptive father.
If the father dies and Adam conviced him to change his will, leaving Jenny with no inheritance (and as I said then, that would be illegal in my country but maybe it's not in New Hampshire), she will no longer have any say in the academy or in his dad's businesses, but everything she owns would still be hers. Even if it had been a direct donation from her father while he was still alive, changing his will would not annul an inter vivos gift.
It's stupid for Adam to claim she'll soon be living in the street. He does say that in the game.

And as I said back then, it was unnecessary to create all that drama. All the dev needed to do was to have Jenny lose her influence in the academy, because she would lose her ability to help the girls and the MC which is the gist of this story. It was unwarranted to have her lose everything she had.
