I skipped all of the updates between Laura's last solo ending and the good ending. Because, there was a part of me that thought that we wouldn't be getting the update here. As the dev already made it harder to leak it here once. So, I figured I might as well leave it somwhere I could make peace with how things turned out. Laura's family ending and Harry's full-blown cuck ending are the truest to their characters as far I interpret them. I came back because I wanted to know what the dev had in mind for a good ending. Especially because he doesn't do early exits or purity routes. Which is what I prefer in games like these. Dumb as it sounds.

As to why I played Harry only and not all perspectives. Well, I wanted to see Harry fucking her first. In all iterations and on all paths. Possibly also including her full path. So, that way if I ever get around to watching her and Luca it should hit harder. Because she's nobody to Harry until the endings. Meaning the scenes before then are between characters I don't care for. And my connection to Harry is my connection to the game.

You know there's a path or two where you see Aya or Laura's perspective when choosing Harry only. At least at the end of each path.

That's... an interesting perspective...

I only played through Harry's perspective exclusively only once, because it's the thing to do for NTR VNs and all that. However, I'm here for hot smut, regardless of the permutation of characters it happens with, so after that it was full blown exposure. First playthrough was blind, and I landed straight on the basic Good Ending... which I suppose is to be expected given that to get there you need to take the choices dictated by Common Sense... a nearly non-existed super-power in the NTR genre.

I didn't play any of the updates. I only picked this up once it was complete, and it's a good thing for Hangover that they didn't block them from getting here, because if they did, they wouldn't have gotten any of my money. I don't spend money on H-games blind, especially with stuff like NTR. However, this was so well done that I definitely decided to throw some money their way for a while, to help ensure that there's more in the future.

Getting back to Harry and his perspective. I honestly don't think I could manage multiple playthroughs from his perspective. Mainly because he's such an oblivious idiot that I'd punch him, repeatedly, if he was a real person that I could meet. However, the smut MORE than makes up for it. Could've used more scenes with Laura+Sandra or Laura+Aya at the same time though. Or gangbangs. Shame there's only two of those.

I honestly don't know how the Family Ending looks from just Harry's perspective... Or any ending really aside from the Good Ending. That said, you do know that the Family Ending is actually the second worst ending for Harry in the entire game, right? Second only to the Fallen Hero ending. Some might say that the Abrupt ending is worse for him, but at least in that one, he finds out the truth and acts... even if we have no idea how far his actions will go in his moment of madness without Aya to change things. In the Family Ending, Harry suffers more and more without even realizing how much he's being screwed with, and odds are that Luca will get bored eventually and just completely ruin him in a way that's as bad, if not worse than the Fallen Hero ending.

Here we go again! We’re back for more A Promise Best Left Unkept… woohoo~…
If it isn't obvious already, I don't really know how to preface this. I guess by explaining what this project is about. For those who don't know, A Promise Best Left Unkept was completed last month and released on Steam this month. But it might be confusing since we're back with more of it this month instead of a completely new project. That's because last month was only the completion of Laura's route. Now we're doing the same game, but with Aya as our main heroine. What that means is that, at a certain point early in the game, Harry will be doing something different than what he did in the original version, and this will lead to a drastically different outcome.
For the specifications: the update adds 15.5k~ words of new content, with 2 new sex scenes and 5 new CG sets. The entire beginning of the game (probably 50k words) is still there, for those who haven't played the original game, or simply want to re-read it.
For those who don't want to read it again though, and don't want to skip through it, there's now an option in the extra section of the game to jump to specific versions of the game. Since it's the first version, you can only jump to V0.1.0, but when V0.2.0 comes out, you will be able to jump to the new content from that menu directly.

Another change is the Scene Replay menu. Now you can choose Harry in the menu. Meaning that every scene involving Harry will be found under him. Also, if there are any memorable moments where Harry witnesses scenes indirectly or partially (mystery perspective), those might be found under him as well.

As mentioned previously, this update starts things slow. In fact, Aya's route in and of itself is slow. I have mixed feelings about lots and lots of things. Her route will either be a huge failure or a great success. Just… expect it to be a fairly long ride.

Once again, if there are quality-of-life changes that you want to see in the game, you can still bring them to my attention. I want to create a quality product, but since it's essentially the 'same' game, a lot of things are the same.

I do plan to add a few custom music that I commissioned over the past months. There are no new music pieces in this particular update, but expect a few in the next one.

While Harry being a cuck on any level is debatable...

The USB thing didn't happen because of that. It happened because of Harry's willful ignorance problem. You have to remember that at that point, Harry did NOT remember what happened with Maya exactly. He loosely knew something happened and that Luca was involved, but at that point the memory was firmly suppressed. On top of that he was running away from the details of his past so hard that he was ignoring the warning signs of what Luca was doing and desperately hoping that Luca actually changed from the psycho he was back in high-school. He took the friendly illusion Luca was projecting as reality, because the reality that Luca was still the same psycho, but grown up, and still had it in for him, was too terrifying to deal with.

Either way, that's not the real plot-hole with the whole blackmail thing.

The real plothole is the fact that apparently, that entire office building has cameras only in places that are inconvenient for Harry and no where else, and somehow, employees are allowed to turn off their cameras without providing justification for it whenever they want. In any real office building, Luca's blackmail scheme would have never worked, along with most of the fucking scenes at the office. He'd have been tagged as present in the building and talking with Harry in any real office building, and he'd have been a prime suspect in the incident, if one occurred. In which case Harry might have taken a slap on the wrist over it for being a moron, but it'd be Luca who'd get the police down his throat.

Again though, NTR VN.

NTR is one of those fetishes where you have to turn parts of your brain off to enjoy it, because the world has to literally bend around the "stud" for it to work in many cases. It works better in settings with magic and/or super-science or the like, where the "stud" can have some kind of unfair advantage. Otherwise, if any sort of realism is expected, genuine NTR is impossible.

Props to the writer though for giving the characters reasons and whatnot in this one. The issues of all the characters mean that IF they could all be real and IF such a ridiculous office building with such a ridiculous company could exist, and IF they could all gather in one place... then maybe this sort of absurd series of events could actually occur. Well, minus the whole 'cums 10+ times in a girl and still has just as much cum as when he started' bits. That's biologically impossible.

I mean... yes and no.

I suppose realism is the wrong choice of words here. Internal consistency is, I suppose, the better way of putting it. A porn world doesn't need to be realistic, but it should be internally consistent so there aren't any massive plot-holes. Like, for example, many games aren't realistic, but the way the world works in each of them and how the characters are shaped by that world is internally consistent. So you can think 'Yeah, if this world was real, this shit would make sense in this world.'

Unfortunately, this VN is set into a setting that's supposedly based on the real world, which means that there are real-world-like things that you expect. You can hand-wave the porn-god stuff away by saying that people are built different over there. However, the way the company works isn't as hand-wave-able, especially when the VN does stuff like blatantly reference COVID and other such things. Which is why the whole blackmail thing feels like a massive plot-hole. Because you see a supposed company that could exist IRL, but somehow doesn't have the basic security that is standard for tech companies for more than 10 years. For someone like me who has worked in a tech company, I just can't easily ignore how stupid it is. XD

In my experience, NTR is, in general, by far the genre with the most consistency issues out there, though I do admit that I can very well be extremely biased, especially around any games that have my favorite content, aka tentacles.
