I'm pretty sure nobody on here minds a story with good build-up, but the fact of the matter is that the build-up has been going on since almost 3 years now and that is NOT good build-up, 80% of the people who played the first release of this game have probably left following the development by now, that itself is enough to prove that. Most people do complain about that, and it is 100% justified.

It is not a good buildup
It is GREAT buildup.
And the game is now entering the parts when the buildup is slowly begining to pay off.
I LOVE the pacing of the game !
What I dont love - is how long the development is taking.
I was fine with 6 months for a whole day, but it is going past even that. I think he might really go too far with ammount of CGs per scene (fashion show for Dylan/Sam was IMHO too long - too many CGs), but I cant say for sure untill I see those scenes in this update.
After we got so many tame scenes that had many renders for them, it is only natural for actualy hot sexual scenes to be even bigger.
When we finaly will start gettign really hot scenes with Dylan and Sophia and Ellie - I expect a really huge, masterfully crafted scenese then. And when Dylan will finaly get to fuck his Mother, I want him to go at her for the whole night - cumming in her 10 times over - and I hope that L&P will make it truely epic.
So who knows - maybe those 5 months of wait were justified (probably not for me since I am lukewarm about Lesbian content), we will see.
So yeah - if you complain about development time beeing too long - I feel ya.
But the game pacing itself ?
Fuck no - it is great.
