Nice that they are able to buy that many new cards. However, it won't increase L&P's working speed over night. He is still a single dev who does all the posing and PS postwork.

In a team, where you have more then one artist, it may speed up the process, but not for a single dev.

For a single dev four RTX 3090 are way to much... two cards would be enough together with NVLink Bridge and batch rendering.

I have never denied the fact that I appreciate this game while criticizing what I don't like about it. Otherwise, I won't be on this thread chatting and responding. as you can see I am an honest person. Except that I'm not crazy to think of it as an artistic masterpiece.

What is art and what is not has always been argued about.
We Germans have already tried a definition and, among other things,
fortunately got one right in the face for it.
I would never go that far and call this game an art. But as solid work.
It stimulates my perverse fantasy and the story challenges me to contradict.
And this has the game ahead of many other games. And I appreciate that.

NVLink Bridge

Far as I'm aware NVLink won't pool or share the VRAM anyway. Have to pool it with an overhead otherwise your still stuck at 24GB. And doing that would actually slow down speed not increase it. So utterly pointless in the real world especially when dealing with geometry and polygons etc. it would help Iray though with the NVLink.

It would also allow you to render a larger scene....which may help him...but as he renders at a low resolution anyway he is just negating the benefits and effects with something else. Unless he going to start rendering in 4k which I find unlikely.

However, given all this and L&P's (and many other devs) terribly bad organisational skills....why spend all that money for what in reality would be zero increase in production and update speed? You really want 48GB of VRAM then why fuck about with 3090's? Just buy a Quadro 8k which is far more suitable for the actual job.

The information online are very vague, but Daz3D and Iray seems to work with NVLink and share their VRAM.
