According L&P's statement which you have posted 2-3 pages ago - "the bike ride isn't the actual task...", to me it is pretty obvious there will be a bike ride. The task would be something else, maybe after the ride.

Yes, but that's different than saying no ride at all.
He was clear that the task is not the ride, ok, but also everything seems to suggest there will be a ride, she is even wearing gloves. As Scarlet56 pointed out, you don't dress like that, especially with gloves, in a hot place like that.
So it seems reasonable to assume that there will be a ride and, then, at some point, there will be the task which does not involve the ride. It also could explain why Sophia is not pissed off, she might not have received the instruction for the task yet, just change clothes and be ready to a ride. (i'm just curious how she manages the purse though...)

I kind of agree and disagree with the theory.
How I see it is that Sophia will ( going by your theory ) at some point think of helping the boy out of his issues and consider her responsibility as teacher towards him but I don't see Aiden getting emotionally attached to Sophia. That would actually create a lot of drama. Already people are unhappy with the development cycle , even L&P is aware of that and introducing such drama into the story would actually lead to a phase where there will be tons of conversation and no action. This kind of twist is suited for a romance story not a erotic visual novel, that too with Aiden it looks unlikely since he isn't one of the main characters like Dylan, Ellie, Sam, Patricia
