Because SOME of y'all take every opportunity to remind everyone else about how much you hate Dylan - sorry ThE pYgMy - prompting the people who like Dylan's storyline to speak up in his defence.
BTW this isn't aimed at you farrah, you're chill, but you asked the question.
Honestly the difference between anti-Dylan and anti-Ellie sentiment in this thread is gargantuan. Blaming Dylan for the current update's delay, comparing him to other male-MC sleep molesters, someone was rocking fanart of Dylan in a coffin as their signature last year...
tbh I don't like the Ellie content in the game (just not into girl-girl stuff personally), but you know what I do when people start gabbing about Ellie, I keep my mouth shut and let people enjoy what they enjoy.
So, in the interest of balance -
Ellie's a Sociopath.
Dylan may be a manipulative shit, but he's never secretly drugged his sister with something that could cause permanent damage to her reproductive organs, plus waiting to do it right before going to a public place, plus bringing a friend along to maximize witnesses and ensure the shame is something Ellie remembers for the. rest. of. her. life.
This was after Ellie had been told the whole bathroom incident wasn't Dylan's fault by the way.
Dylan's never lied about his dating or sexual experience to try and look cool. He lies his ass off about his goals but he's not hiding who he is as a person from Sophia to try and edit his own self image.
He's never asked his sister for help, and then took the opportunity while she was helping him to poke through her room, found something embarrassing and shamed her about it. And if you think Ellie isn't going to bring up Dylan's magazines at some point later to get what she wants then you've really not been paying attention.
Also, can we talk about Ellie's excellent judge of character - sees a guy across the sauna who looks like if Date-rape was a person and all she can think is A) how big his dick is and B) how cool she'll look standing next to him.
Not to mention then dragging her mother into joining her in that lovely company.
disclaimer: I don't honestly believe any of the above, all conflict is in service of the story and should be appreciated in context. Just keep the Dylan hate to a dull roar and we'll see less of his defence.

I am not personally pro-Dylan. To be honest I am not currently pro-anybody apart from Sophia herself.
By the time you discount those who throw around puerile accusations of blue-balling and milking, and by the time we discount the 1 line posts asking for "update yet?" / "save pls" / "has mom fucked son", then there few enough of us fans left.
I don't see the point in antagonising each other by insulting other persons favourite characters. It just gets tiresome.
People can do or say what they want. I am just hoping we can keep it just to friendly banter and tone down the insults.

Edit: Moving forward Dylan is most likely headed towards cuckold and wanting to be a pimp. His fetishes so far seem to be voyeurism and showing off his Mother.

I have to admit, I was not interested in the Ellie storyline when I first started playing but damn it is good. I don't view any of the routes as worthless, they are all focused on sexual corruption and fetishes. That is the point of the game after all.
I do wish L&P would outsource some part of the process. I understand they have no incentive to do so...but faster updates would be nice.
The story is good and there is a much a reason to play Good Wife route as there is Filthy which is a first. I would support the game if the updates were more regular but Sunset Riders burned me out pretty bad on pledging to porn games.

I think at this point in the game switching perspectives adds some nice variety into the game. I have no idea how it affects "canon" but one-off events would be great. Who would turn down a small event where Ellie teases some guys or Patricia does something raunchy? This one-off events would be a great thing to outsource to other animators.

I agree. I ended up editing variables to trigger multiple events in one playthrough. I don't mind missing some content on certain paths but it is growing more exclusionary.
