Which still doesn't change the fact, that it is a decent, above average, salary. The average salary of an university scientist with a phd is around 4-4.5k. So stop with all those insane numbers, like you need 8k to live somewhat stable. Programming students work here for 450€/month.

Exactly, friends wife as a doctor in Germany earns net salary 4000 euros, with night shifts even more. My friend is currently unemployed but they still live well above average, they travel around Europe, go on summer vacations, they don't lack at anything. But I can understand DEV wanting more for himself, that's perfectly normal.

It's not about whether the author has enough money for food, as well as financial, which will allow him to buy good equipment and hire an assistant. Sorry, but for 2-4 thousand euros you will not do it.

4000$ a month is frankly a huge sum of money in many countries even in a fully developed country it's enough to enjoy and live a great lifestyle.tbh the people with engineering degree or a degree in any field wouldn't earn that sum unless you are a spl candidate! And after all the tax cut off Dev would earn around 3300-3500$ everymonth.i could only dream about earning that much.and yeah to develop a game like this you need to have a good rig and I don't think it would take more than 1000$ for him to get a good rig (one time investment).maybe it's not about money maybe he is just teasing us and he may gives us so much to cheer abt in the of the game!anyways I'm just hoping he ups the ante of updates asap coz he has created a great game !
@robin1986 Well my question was whether he is planning to do it.....say a few months from now.... Not if he is gonna do it right now.... But 4k is a huge sum of money and very few patreons reach that amt so i assumeed he should have reached his goals and saved enough to up his rig and all..... U can't keep throwing 200 render bread crumbs at hungry dogs every month..... but never mind..... I checked his site...... Says he will do so after 8k/12k goal.

Everything is logical. 8 this is the amount with which you are financially independent and you can devote all your time to the game. 12 will allow you to hire a permanent assistant.

Recently, he had to buy a new GPU(1080ti). The old one broke down. This is money, too. Who knows, how many GPU there will be broken yet in future.
I will check out this link, I love the story line build up but OMG they need to sprinkle in some sex scenes as well
