This is just yet another one of his yearly statements. It's in the same category as; "This year I'm gonna hire help to increase development speed.".
Billion dollar franchises with their AAA developers and hundreds if not thousands of employees are unable to make their games pirate-proof, but L&P is obviously better. He's the best, and every single one of his statements has turned out to be the truth. He would never lie, and this statement of his is totally not him being salty. It's all real and true.
The latest $45 "teaser" was totally worth it, no? Dylan vs. Ellie in a staring contest. HOLY MOLY!

You were interested enough in it to check the credits screen, so why didn't you complain/demand this developer?
It was your right.
And this became further evidence of this developer's insincerity and irresponsibility.

You can dispute credit card charges.
Much harder if it's on a debit, as that comes directly out of your checking. And i would never want something like Paypal pointed directly at my checking for that reason.
Unless he plans to imbed some custom file that he is then going to keep a database on to cross-reference every download with every sub, then it seems all the one that wants to upload it to pirate sites would need to do is unzip/rezip, and you've just changed its digital fingerprint.
And even if he *did* imbed some custom thing to track it, what's to stop them from just making a new Patreon account?
Either way, sounds like a lot of talk and empty promises, to which like everything else from this dude, believe if when we see it.

That's especially laughable, coming from a guy whose extensive legal experience allowed him to come up with the reason Aiden is so untoucheable by school staff and whatnot is because 'His dad is a lawyer' or some such horseshit.
In L&P's world, talking about lawyers is so steeped in urban legend, that it's like the Candyman.
Simply say the word 'lawyer' in a mirror 3 times, and one will appear and sue ya!

Aiden’s uncle is presented as an untouchable lawyer. He probably is one of the managing partners of this law firm which is untouchable by the law due to its reputation and network expansion. They are so powerful that they can move governments and influence politicians. A scenario not far from reality… Aiden is depicted as the spoiled nephew and in the absence of a father his uncle has taken that role. Not an easy task for a teacher or a fashion designer to overcome this obstacle. In situations like this it is not uncommon for people to act driven by their emotions… Reason becomes a secondary choice when fear overcomes people and Sophia is scared… Aiden is playing with fire and testing Sophia’s limits. So far his tasks are borderline realistic. My favourite one is Art Class! There will be no courts or lawsuits! Then you will have to disclose your personal data of an individual! The consequences for such developers have long been known. plus, we do not forget the difference in the laws of different countries. The only thing that can - I agree with it. Use it as an excuse to cancel or postpone certain additions to the game.

That thought is kind of funny considering L&P is distributing AWAM behind Patreon's back. Also funny since he's using highly illegal assets in his game that could cost him everything. You know, all the copyrighted brands and stuff which he's using for his porn game. lul
I'm sure Amani, Coke & Co would be happy about that. Same with Patreon.
