Seems like everyone has a horse in this race to be the first to get Sophia's cookie. Did some thinking about the storyline and have come up with the following:

Having two "new" content releases of Dylan is to tie the score between Dylan and Sam. There would be a serious plot hole if we get a new Sam route and nothing serious happens. If you take the plausibility of Sam's path, the next time Sophia and Sam have alone time, events ought to go ballistic simply because Sophia all but gave herself to him. This new Dylan route that is coming ought to be equal or on par with "The Talk."

Of course, the Devs could really frak everyone over and just go on with some other side route that is currently in play and leave us hanging with the Sam/Dylan route. And likely after this upcoming Dylan route release that is what will most likely happen.

Some decisions are simply not possible no matter how some might wish them to be. A porn game, especially one with incest content, will never be realistic. It's just like you can't eat boiling ice cream.

That L&P claims otherwise is, in my opinion, wrong or at least misunderstood. In a porn game, a developer can put wight on creating a coherent story and characters that don't behave like sex dolls. It's more realistic than some of the other games here, but it's not a realistic game. Also, L&P seems to me to put a lot of emphasis on realistic graphics. But a porn game will never be realistic, because realism and porn are kind of mutually exclusive.

Anyway, Anyone who thought that a (real world) realistic porn game could be possible should reconsider their own expectations. One must not believe everything that L&P says. At the end of the day, he is only human and makes mistakes. Even more, I don't think anyone here should have the goal that AWAM is (real world) realistic.

I feel you may have missed my point to some degree. Although I'm not a fan of incest, I see no reason why a good writer couldn't create a realistic story arc to cover this kink. Back when I started playing & the story was more balanced between the various fetishes, keen incest followers were seeking the development of a loving relationship between mother & son, built up over time, encompassed within the now infamous slow burn. As the Parkers are a middle class, wealthy, educated family this would have chimed better with 'realism' than what we have now with the totally ludicrous "race" between Dylan & Sam, where Dylan is just another example of teen porn shota-lite, with his added advantage of everyday access to Sophia. I understand L&P is trying to please his schoolboy fans who, presumably, identify with Dylan & Sam but the story is now cliched & has glaring inconsistencies. Forget realism, ('cos the Dev has), there's barely any basic logic left in the tale of "sex education." Putting it more crudely, it's not enough if there's to be any 'realism' at all, that Dylan is handsome, athletic, has a big knob & became a martial artist after 2 lessons. Sophia's 'frustration' with her sex life has also been badly written. Even if it wasn't, her first ports of call wouldn't include her own son. Putting the two of them together in incestuous situations may suit fans who just want to get on with the fucking, (sometime in the next 30 years, when they'll be middle aged) but their motivation has not been convincing.

We all make mistakes but IMO the Dev no longer has the commitment to the quality writing for which evidence exists from previous years, that shows what he can accomplish when he is on form. He probably wouldn't acknowledge that mistakes had ever been made. I believe that there will be no return to form, because he's chosen to write a generic teen porn game, rather than an erotic adult VN. It's far easier that way but I do believe he should re-write his promotional blurb/mission statement. "His game, his choice," so let him ruin what could have been the best 3D porn game of the 21st century. 'What's it to me?' is easily answered. This story, with the top quality renders, was the best game in town & it's disappointing to watch, (out of curiosity...& why I'm still here with no game to play anymore), its decline into mediocrity. Expectations for something better followed naturally from the Dev's statements, the artwork itself & the previous genuine commitment to quality, that used to be observable in the round & not just for renders.

I totally disagree that porn & realism are mutually exclusive, even in a work of fiction. I recommend the memoirs of the 18th century lover of many women Casanova, or the Victorian era biography, "Walter, My Secret Life." These are both factual but I believe they could well have been exaggerated &/or embellished. As for actual fiction I recommend the work of Anais Nin, as a good starter, showing how to maintain a veneer of realism. As for filmed fiction, I remember a 70's Swedish porno entitled "The Sex Tile," where a tile falls from a roof, hitting a woman & turning her into a nymphomaniac. It was so dire that half the audience, (including me), spent the 2nd half of that movie in the bar. It was unrealistic & boring but it did have lots of sex & didn't take 30 years. Not only is there not going to be any sex scenes with Dylan for the next week or so in-game, but even on a normal day like PD14, there are still 3 Dylan events. Assuming he'll average that on days he's scheduled to have events, that's about a dozen or so events with little to nothing happening.

LP can fill the remaining event period with voyeurism events.

This is the biggest corruption event I can imagine right now.

There are plenty of examples of unrealistic story elements in AWAM, even in the more distant updates. Aiden story is, in my opinion, the prime example of this, as he is completely unbelievable as a gangster, but Sophia nevertheless sees no other option than to go along with his supposed intimidation. Also the story with the teacher colleague (whose name escapes me) was such a case, where it just not believeable that Sophia could fall for something like that. Then take the side jobs that are so clearly unrealistic, and are there solely to have more kinks in the game, that I almost can not believe that someone does not notice. Or the poorly written gangster mugging story, ...

Sorry, but you shouldn't confuse slow burn with realism. It just means that the more unrealistic events are taking longer to happen, but doesn't make it possible to pretend that it's suddenly realistic that Sophia (who was initially described as very conservative, and not even comfortable with nudity) is starting to become sexually active with all the people around her. The goal of a porn game is to exaggerate in one direction. No matter how well you write, this exaggeration will always remain unrealistic.

Now a little bit about Sam and Dylan. I honestly don't have the impression that the two are in a kind of race. Unless it turns out that Dylan was watching Sophia and Sam, Dylan doesn't even know about what is going on. Sam knows even less about Dylan's progress with Sophia. This whole discussion is more of an oddity in this forum. I at least don't participate in that, and think Sam and Dylan should team up to support each other in achieving their goals.

Again, I really think you're confusing slow burn with realism. Ultimately, L&P took the first third of the gamedays to build up the characters and their backstory. The goal here was to make things look normal, because that's what makes corruption exciting in the first place. But already here it was clear that this porn game would ultimately lead to sexual action. One example is perhaps the event in which Sophia went back to the school to take a shower. This was a mini blackmail, but just as unrealistic as the story with Aiden.

So what you see as a change in L&P approach, is nothing more than the game finally start to make some progress. Considering how many years the game has been in development, this is long overdue. No one has anything to gain if the game in 20 years is still working on slowly nothing happens.

I think one thing should be clearly separated. Pornography is defined as explicit sexual content created with the primary purpose of arousing the viewer sexually. This does not mean that the story has to be bad, even though this is unfortunately often the case. However, a inversion is not possible. Not every story with sex (that could sexually arouse a viewer) is automatically porn. "Naked Tango", for example, is not a pornographic film. It is an erotic drama.

If you look at AWAM, I would say it should be clear to everyone that it is porn. Sure, the story and characters are better fleshed out than in many other games here, but the intention is pretty clear. No matter how much L&P writes about a realistic story, in the end it will not be (real world) realistic. At the latest with the introduction of the side jobs, it was clear that the kinks of the players, not the story, were the decisive point here. Ultimately, I think you perceived the buildup of the story and the introduction of all the LI , without much having happened yet, as somehow superior. Perhaps the L&P talk of a realistic game has led to false expectations. Ultimately, however, AWAM can not be a (real world) realistic porn game, bevause this doesn't fit together.
