I think the key is that some amateur writers don't understand that 1500 words is not better than 500 very well chosen words. I was a professional writer for about 20 years and learned from some great editors that great writers are very selective and thoughtful in their writing. Articles in top magazines are typically more professional (not always, of course) than those on web sites, because there's no word count limit on a web site. L&P and most writers need a good editor, or need to learn some of the basics that professional writers are taught early in their career. You can express the thoughts, the concept, the idea, the drama, in a couple of lines of well chosen dialog, and sometimes trying to do the same in 100 lines waters it down and makes it less effective.

But that still seems like too many renders for this few events. It will still look good I'm sure, but it could also have surely been done with far less renders and still been just as good.

Every time I read one of L&P's updates, and he talks about the number of Renders and CS he's creating, One thought that comes to my mind is Quality vs Quantity? Does he believe these actually go hand and hand? Because it seems to me that he believes in order to achieve Quality you need Quantity.

Exactly. Quality over quantity every time. It's like when Lamborghini produce a new supercar and they only make 50 of them because it's about producing a quality vehicle in a lesser quantity, not a lesser quality vehicle in a higher quantity. That's not to say that this is a lesser qualty game because it most certainly isn't, but that it can be just as if not more high quality with far fewer renders.

I agree. But when you read some of Patreon members' comments, They keep saying quality, quality, quality. It seems they think it goes hand to hand as well, but I don't think they fully grasp the concept that Quality is not achieved through Quantity either.

I wonder how many of them are actually aware of just how long this game will take to produce at its current pace and if they would change their tune to know that, as of what we know right now, it could take 12-15 years before we get to the end of Day 30 if each day continues to have as many events and renders as they have at the moment.

On the comments I don't think that the Patrons will go for 1080p.
then again has L&P already made up his mind what he is going to do and is just curious to find out what his Patrons think.

But would they go for full day updates if it means less renders? Sometimes it seems like they wouldn't and if L&P listens to that then those patrons are also part of the problem.

They had a vote for this a while back and the Patrons decided to stick to a half day update

Hell, just take a look at his open post to all right now, it's pretty much the same with a members-only post. The reoccurring theme is "I'll support you no matter how long it takes." When you see a post like that from his members then it defeats the purpose of trying to point out how long this is going to take.

Not to mention, He's going to take breaks in between for Family, Holiday or Vacation, and other life events. Plus if he decides to take the updates to 1/4 days, then you're looking production time exceeding 12-15 years. Hell, his comment about how it wasn't going to take 10 years and that he would only need 3 to 4 years went out the window already. I strongly think he will burn out or grow tired of the novel due to how many tasks he currently is shouldering which he continues to keep adding and adding.

Yes, I remember that, but I also remember that that was in the context of whether or not they'd prefer content to be drip-fed as and when it's completed, or to have the update delivered as one complete package.

A better poll for L&P to run would be to ask the patrons if they would rather have half-day updates with 1000+ renders in each, or full day updates with 1000+ renders. They should also give patrons the context that this game has 30 planned playable days and that updates can take 4+ months. Knowing that we're only just now finishing Day 11, I would hope most patrons would see sense and vote for the 2nd option.

I wonder how much animation is in this update if there is any at all. I would figure there would be some considering the size. If there is animation, I hope it exceeds the Kissing Club scene and shower scene.

And I'm sure you along with myself and Dr.Fapalot would all vote for the 2nd option if L&P did that poll. The question is, would enough patrons vote for that and if it won, would L&P actually listen?

This is why when he started AwAm I thought he was very naive with what he put concerning his goals and game content.He must of realised early on how big this game could get
