When Mundo says he is working on the game and gives you a date, you usually hope it doesn't get abondoned and you get the update after 2 months the given date. Don't expect huge upfate either it's usually like 220 renders.
Then again, having some update that's small but within 2 months is better than a short update after over 6. And don't forget, people have lives outside making these games lol.
When you're double clicking the EXE file to run the game, hold down the SHIFT key, a popup will come up, try a different renderer.
Sure thing... buy a newer laptop or other device that's at least not older than two decades. RenPy will run on a Russet potato with a gameboy screen smashed into the side of it, so unless you are trying to install RenPy games on an Atari2600 you should be pretty much good to go.
