Because updates a kind of lacking and inconsistent, once the game picks up a bit more content it'll probably get there.
That remains a catch-22. But I also recall SS not updating much for an entire year while they got ten times the support we're getting now. Frankly I've always considered it to be due to MC having a behemoth dick and there being tons of incest. I don't think it's all that weird considering the fact that we are pretty vanilla so far
But I'm confident support will grow as long as we don't give up!

We should establish a new tag for games: 3-click sex scenes. 'cause it doesn't take much longer than that and they're over. Some games like Camp Pinewood have perfected it down to 1-click scenes. Why do so many games think they can get away with a few pictures and like a handful of sentences until the entire scene is over?
Concerning this game, the buildup and general writing around some scenes was ridiculously short. Like Mercy and the pill treatment: Tons of sentences around her testing - cut to 'hold on, let me try something - cut to 3-4 pictures of her riding the MC without any text - cut back to the testing. Last time I tested the game was almost a year ago and I'm not exactly a fan of this development. The erotic aspects are the main selling points of lewdgames, don't cut them short. Hard to enjoy something when it's over in a matter of seconds.

Well I could give you a few hints, they are very slow, don’t give regular progress updates on their patreon page let along update their progress bar, while their updates are good, they are too infrequent or don’t give much nsfw content... x-ray content? I don’t feel like many people really cared about it and would have preferred actual content with a character. When they do streams they don’t archive them so you can check them out when you have time. And it would be useful to have some posts about what tasks they are actually completing to get the next update out the door.

We’ve listened to all of your feedback and tried to push out quality level to new heights! Story-wise, it means that characters from now on won’t be jumping on the MC’s rocket as quickly as Tracer did. Let’s write it down to her being open to new experiences, ok? Next important addition is variation! Like, really, I’ve tried to add as many variants and branches to the dialogue as possible. Of course, don’t expect ‘Detroit’ level of variability, but there will be opportunities for new experiences in each playthrough. Currently, we’ve been working on adding a new route, which will not only feed you all those juicy scenes, but also provide bonuses, such as intelligence and strength.
Talking about scenes: we’ve tried to add more emotion to them with more aesthetics, while trying to move away from the “in-and-out, 20 seconds adventure” as far as possible. These new scenes contain dialogue, different poses and camera angles, more fetishes, etc. It’s also going to be the first time when the MC won’t be the one on top, ha.
The new storyline, for those who still have not guessed, is dedicated to the best mechanic (that doesn’t have a beard and isn’t a dwarf) – Brigitte. While she may be a great mechanical engineer, that’s not the only talent she has. You’ll find out that she is capable of using hammers, and even rope, but when it comes to off the clock work, she know what she's doing not only with her hands, but with feet as well ;}
New update coming to the closed testing next month!

We're doing our best to make updates more frequent and I'd say it's going good. We had to make some extra preparations before finishing update for Brigitte, but all patches after her would take much less time, than any of updates before.

Not entirely sure if this was a serious concern or not, but I'm gonna throw my opinion on it regardless...
Things to remember in regards to SS are:
-SS has been around for ages
-basically shaped the adult game market
-provided many and constant updates in its earlier stages, when the scope of things wasn't nearly as big as it is today: we're talking weekly to monthly additions and up until version .14, where their update policy changed and they instead focused around complete updates revolving either around a character or place (School, Roxy, Diane and now Eve). The issue is now in scope per update.
Still: They also started out small and built up their community, which in turn supported them. They delivered content that was considered quality at that time and thus gained more traction. Not gonna lie, the incest probably played a decent role in it, hell, it was what drew me in initially, but their charming artstyle and pretty good character writing (especially in later updates) was what kept me around. They only grew bigger and bigger and thus the scope of their updates has increased, which is why we're now basically stuck at 3-4 updates a year. Though those are in general 3-4 meaty updates each year with a whole lot of things to discover and girls to lewd.
It's always nice when someone points out how hard it is to take your concerns seriously when they are living breathing justification for said concerns!
Not gonna lie, SS has my favorite art and writing. But that's a matter of preference. One preference that is prevalent in crowd funded porn games though, you know it's incest. It draws in people, we don't. We don't seem to have a retention issue, so it seems like it is safe to presume that the lack of content is still the main issue for most.
We're not going to start making small updates with no significant new content. SS probably went in that direction for a reason. We're just going to keep doing our best to create content as fast as we can while adhering to our standards of quality, until we can all afford to do this full time.
Which, yea isn't the best you've ever seen, but I think it's pretty good! At least we have a very supportive fanbase. You just can't expect us to invest more than we do in the current situation, believe me when I say we want to, we do this work with love.

After playing through, I think the thing its missing the most is the buildup to the sex scenes. Like for the Mercy route there's a lot of talking for the testing questions, and then there is just a random sex scene with no dialogue. It looks like they might be working on this in the next update hopefully.
Suggestion wise, for the Mercy route, she knows that cumming makes the MC do better on the test questions, so maybe you could have her test a hypothesis that the intensity of the orgasm increases your performance. So her scenes could be more about getting MC off in increasingly sexual ways to further her research. It looks like the art might already kinda match up with this. Like for the bj scene she looks a little regretful after swallowing, but she could be willing to go further once she sees that MC improves.
For anal, you could have Mercy want to continue testing but not have any ideas how she could increase the intensity after vaginal, then MC could suggest "a tighter solution". Have her reject the idea at first but then give in since it could help with her research. It kind of lines up with the art already since she looks uncomfortable in the anal scenes compared to the vaginal versions. It also looks like she doesn't cum at the end of the anal scene even though she does in the vaginal version. I actually like how the artist did this because you could have each character react differently from each other, like Mercy might not like anal, but a character like Tracer would. Most games seem to just make all characters like everything so.
