Ok, so I played it through. It isn't my game, they aren't my characters or my story. My two cents, however, are that you never, ever inflict harm on a character in a story unless it serves a larger purpose to the overall narrative. And you,by Freya's Sweet Ass, do not kill a character, especially one designed to have emotional investment, without a compelling reason! I'm sorry to say, but I just don't see the rationale for this. I loved this game. Looked forward to each installment. But as of now, I'm out. For the geeks out there, I haven't been this disappointed in a game choice since the ending of Mass Effect 3!

Addendum: Having calmed down a bit, I will grant that Dr. Pink Cake may have overarching reasons for the ending of Ep. 6. Still out though!

Well, the story at this point is far beyond love, sex, lust etc... This is matter of life and death for the characters you really care about. And as much as i hate to say it, cancer is equal with death certificate. Liam is also dead af. Everyone has to die at some point, just make every minutes you live worth it, i kinda get that message. For me I would trade right away my relationships with all of them just to keep them alive. But these kind of deals arent exist, thats life for you, and life is cruel. Anw i will stay strong and follow the rest of the story. And i have to say i have utmost respect for the author because of his courage, determination and persistence throught out the game. You created some characters many people love, but you didnt milk them and turn the game like any other porn games, you decided to kill them off just for the sake of the plot you want to make and the massage you want to send, thats not a thing a casual author would do. Just imagine we as fans already feel pretty bad about this, im pretty sure this decision is much harder for the author. Appreciate it.

chapter one, relationship report, it always says "you didnt kiss leah" even when the cakes are full.

and "will have dire consequences" - thats some nasty shit looming.
I dislike the senseless happy go lucky endings, but this... this whole story shapes up to be like life: You work hard and the universe gives a shit about you.

edit- seems i double posted. sorry bout that, didnt see it actualy put the post out there, i was still having an input window open.

You need to have the charismatic trait for the option. Don't worry about the "you didn't kiss leah" if you didn't choose the charismatic trait.
but i did choose that option. on the mouth even

"your fate has been sealed now"

well, fuck this. I'm out. this bullshit shapes up to a be a triangle or even a square relationship judging from the final page, but this... no fucking way.

its not one guy becoming an alpha male of a pack of women, but being happy.

He's done really well in the characters. When it comes to the plot, I don't know if I can agree. Everything I like about the game is very much character driven. Melissa, Megan, Liam the game was at its strongest early on when those characters drove things. Even Liam's cancer informed his attitude from the first episode and let you look at things from a new perspective. When I say what he did there was good. It was EXCEPTIONAL in this space.

The plot? Meh. Girl wants to have an acting career, her best friend comes from a shattered home with a piece of shit stepdad, has a friend who is jealous of her success. All pretty standard stuff at best, but it had the advantage of having nothing that would get in the way of the character work. Those threads, and the cancer were more than enough to pull the story along.

Last episode was where things turned south. We had some great character moments. For sure, hell Liam's friend dying was HEARTBREAKING. But that's not the part that sticks with me. The part that does is very much how the entire ending from the audition on of Episode 5 and the intro to Episode 6, and the out of nowhere ending to Episode 6 were just 100% pure melodrama, and not particularly well-handled melodrama. It felt forced. It WAS forced.

Kinda nice to see I'm not alone in this one. Just way too much melodrama these last episodes. WAY too much. The ending came out of nowhere and just feels really emotionally manipulative. Like extremely so. Part of it is a win because well, you care enough about these characters that it bothers you, so good on it there. But it, like the ending of the last episode just feels like melodrama for the sake of melodrama.

This kind of hurts me to say, because man, Dr. PinkCake is amazing at his character work. Liam is great, and his drama unlike most of the rest of the drama in the game works, and works beautifully. Megan and Melissa are great characters, hell just about everyone in the game is.

But in the last two episodes, it just went crazy... I was worried about it at the end of episode 5, but the ending of episode 6 just validated my fears. The situation just pulled me out of the entire game. Having to choose whether or not to fuck your crazy ex to save Megan last episode was one thing, having Megan almost get raped out of nowhere was another, but the fire? Just not handled well. At all. No foreshadowing, no buildup, and a forced choice that is set up to make people pissed.

I'll see where it all goes. But the game had enough drama with Liam, with the choice between the two girls, with getting over the EX, and stuff like that. It was exceptionally well done in those regards. But after that every time it tried to up the stakes... it pretty much fails in the plausibility department. Dick and Phillip are both cartoonishly evil, as is the ex. Even Megan's dad is abusive. It also doesn't look like the crazy drama is going anywhere anytime soon. We'll see.

Until then... well I'll keep expecting tonal whiplash.
I dont think so, in the story the MC has met some fuck up people. From a douchebag like Dick, a mystery bitch ex like Ana, and even a kind of worst person who ever live on Earth like Peter. An arson happened is not out of imagination at all, especially the MC messed with them many times. Just take it into consideration the story even started with a robbery.
You messed with Peter for Melissa, you messed with Ana for Megan, you messed with Dick for Rena etc.... Thats some kind of " trade " you have to do if you want to find true love, any loves need challenges, and IRL a true hapiness is not something easy to achieve at all.
