As fan of Acting Lessons I still have a sour feeling in my stomach due to the random choice to kill one of the MC's, it felt entirely forced, inorganic and unnecessary. There literally was no reason to make such as drastic decision. What purpose did it serve? Who did it benefit? Yes we know that the illusion of a magical threesome between two beautiful women and a man is just that.. an illusion but was killing one of them off really necessary in order to "Snap back to reality"?
You could've easily had them break up or one of them move away but instead you turned a great Novel into a lousy episode of Law And Order. Even in soap operas they give viewers a glimpse of an foreseeable future but Acting Lessons went from pleasantly divine to incredibly dark almost instantaneous. We all shuddered at the thought of that White trash, abusive prick Peter potentially raping Megan when he had her cornered, we also gasped a sigh of relief when we found out that that wasn't the case when she escaped from him.
But then you had to "Jumped the shark" and killed one of them. There was no alternative route... which there should've been. No way of avoiding Leah, which there should've been. Just an half ass Slice of life rhetoric that "Hey shit happens, it's life". Then there's the ending. The Devs was obviously bias (in my opinion) in there decision making, I felt as if they wanted the MC with Megan all along. Her ending was better, her character showed growth and maturity after the tragic death, while Melissa pretty much stayed the same. We almost have to wonder if both of the female... scratch that, ALL of the female protagonist would've been better off had they not crossed paths with the MC in the first place.
