Well, Megan ending clearly hints that she eventually forgives MC. She holds MC hand after she scattered Melissa's ashes. Vice versa with Melissa's ending.

I don't know is there any requirements for that to happen but I got it when brought Liam and Rena together.
Yeah I saw that in one of the endings....

You know, I've been thinking about writing a review, but I fear it's going to be a rather lenghty one, perhaps even a bit nitpicky. One think I will say is that the game suffers, at least in my opinion, of two things:

1. Having a very touching and bittersweet storyline under the mask of a sex game. There are times when it almost feels like the game would be better off having all the sex occur offscreen. The 'sexy parts' are just that, um, shall we say... jarringly, uh, written, compared to the rest of the game. If someone made a PG-13 edit PG-13 of this, it would elevate the game to almost perfection for me (certain questionable choices dialogue notwithstanding).

That is not to say that you can't have something like this can't happen in real life. You know, having crazy sex one day and making the hardest decision of your life next. It's just that a more realistic take on sex would have the characters moving and talking less like pornstars and more like, well... average people (awkward movements, pauses, journeys to the bathroom while the middle of finishing the act, and jokes included) during said sex scenes.

2. Forcing you towards a certain path even even if you don't want to go that way in your replay (or your first play, even). Though I get that you can only have so much 'branching' before the plot gets away from your hands. Some events are necessary to carry the story foward, even if you have to deprive the player of some autonomy.

Anyway, as a (probably crappy) amateur writer myself, I think I can recognize when an author puts his heart into a certain piece or work, so kudos to DPC for making this game and letting us experience its story.

Just finished this.

As pretty much everyone else has commented, the game has some pretty rough edges in comparison to BAD, especially with Jonas' inner dialogue, where Jonas sounds like Tommy Wiseau a lot of the times (Yes, I'm aware DPC isn't American and is believed to be from Scandinavia).

There are a lot of segments that, in retrospect, could have been dropped from the final product as they needlessly pad out the storyline, most notably the entire RV trip and the sequence with Liam horsing around on stage (How, exactly, does that sequence not end with Liam being escorted out of the theater by police and given a trespass warrant?)

For me, what really hurts the game is the final chapter with the protracted sessions with the psychiatrist. Real therapy doesn't work that way, obviously, with the psychologist/therapist declaring you "cured" and saying you never have to come back, but beyond that there are a number of aesthetical choices that hurt the final chapter:

Jonas looks like some sort of hipster wannabe moron wearing the hoodie throughout the entire thing. And Jonas' final character design (which was recycled for "Steve" in BAD) with that awful nose...it doesn't fit how Jonas was initially portrayed/described, where Jonas was apparently intended to be a guy in his 40's, but physically appears to be early 30's at best.

It's as if DPC panicked at the last minute and thought he would get backlash if Jonas was portrayed as a dirty old man who only fucks college girls (including breeding one out).

And that nose...Jesus, that nose...

Compared to BAD, AL is "a good first effort." DPC has obviously improved his conversational English (or at the very least has hired someone to polish his dialogue), and so far there haven't been any annoying padding scenes like the RV trip (although the drunken date with Bella and its aftermath are definitely pushing it).

There is no single word about MC's age in the game.

You can only guess about the age judging by several details - the previous work (or rather, how MC looked like when shown then compared to how he looks in the group photo at the finale), the story with the cryptocurrency plus add several years of relationship with his ex. And don't forget that Liam, his "maggot brother", got offended when girls suggested he's above 40 yo.

I would say MC's age something about 35. What is still pretty big considering that Megan (and Melissa probably too) is 24 yo. But not so crucial.

I had played this game some years ago when it first got the "Completed" tag, and just finished re-playing it this very moment.

And up until this day, this game is probably still by far the best game with a "Completed" tag in it.

I just have one more simple thing to say...

This guy is the real MVP in this story.

Who doesn't wish to have a "Bro" like him in our lives???

Wow, this game was a solid 5/5 until the end of chapter 6.
But at that point I noped out immediately.
Suddenly grimdark drama out of nowhere that additionally is completely unrealistic, considering it's just a small house with windows right next to them.
Just drama for the sake of adding drama with no sense whatsoever.
Now I'm only considering whether giving it 1 or 3 stars is more fair.
I hope garbage ideas like this never make it into Being A DIK.
I feel like he will do some fucked up shit in BaDik but i hope im wrong(to be specific it might be about his mother or Jill) but this is just my opinion

I think the chances are low luckily, now that he's already famous and makes $1,000,000+ yearly.
Doing the same shit again would probably just cause many people to stop giving him money and avoid his future games, instead of getting free PR.

Not that I mind some fucked up shit - as long as it isn't completely random and nonsensical.
Well i finished acting lessons a hour ago and after the game i dont mind ntr in my games anymore i just dont want see messed up choices and story anymore lol

I'm emotionally devastated and just feel depressed after finishing this game. I ended up with Melissa and just want someone like her in my life to care about me. I feel like such an awful lonely wreck and wish I could turn back time to play this game again. Anyone have any coping mechanisms?

After I played this game for the first time about two years ago (went the Megan route), I was under the covers blubbering for about four days. Now whenever I do play an emotional VN, I usually try to put on some music in the background that's upbeat, for me, it's bands like BABYMETAL, Band-Maid, WagakkiBand, etc.

But to me, that has helped me since then. I took several months away from another game that had an impending depressing update (a game listed in my sig.) So between that time, I got myself ready for what was to come, but I still put music on in the background to get through it.

I mean I've played Acting Lessons enough over the past two years that it doesn't bother me too much anymore, but every once in a while I feel the emotions begin to stir.
