Nobody expects every single mundane scene, but scenes that add much needed context isn't fat that should be trimmed. A character just 'going through the motions' of point to point isn't engaging. Going from a horrific experience to the audition scene is jarring, and undermines the severity of the earlier scene.
You seem to be claiming that the creator is impervious to any constructive criticism or critique because of 'creative choices'. It's disingenuous to claim that any criticism of the writing, pacing or execution is rooted in players wanting a dull boring harem game with no conflict.
