Going to hope the hiatus ends and the dev returns to Altered Destiny. Discovered the dev because I enjoyed FILF, but Altered Destiny has tons of potential and offers something much more special than FILF does. Altered Destiny resonates with me, and while the devs writing is felt in both FILF and AD, it's very hard to go back to FILF when seeing the true potential of their writing with AD. I struggled to play the last FILF update because of this. Wishing for the best for AD despite the Steam rejection.
Same, thats preciselly one of the reasons why i might not play FILF 2

AD has an actual plot and an interesting, in-depth story with likeable characters. FILF is just a porn game with mindless sex.

Yeah, AD is so inherently story-oriented that everything ties together well. Everything has some purpose at the core foundation. Even if FILF 2 tries to involve more overarching plots and character arcs, at the core of it, it just isn't that. There is merit in having both something like AD and FILF, but losing AD would be a huge loss.

Why was this game rejected on steam? It must not be for incest since FILF and other incest games are on there. What changes did they want him to make that were so drastic he'd rather just move on from this game?

They usually don't like "family oriented" games. The whole thing is some back to the future hommage. It's hard to avoid that and the plot still making sense.
So ... screw Steam, I would hardly buy it there anyway. Other platforms are more tolerant. Ok, GOG would probably also not want it. But bring it at least to itch.io.

We got Timestamps which is back to the future type with doing your younger Mom, etc. We've got Lust Theory which is all family oriented, we've got Summer with Mia...cough "Returning to Mia", Shut Up and Dance, Seducing the Devil, and the list goes on, and on.

I think it goes by who the person/s who happen to be there that day to take the consideration into account. Hell, maybe they got someone like me who's okay with it and green lights one game, and someone who's a prude and doesn't like that and rejects it...I'm sure it's more involved. Just saying maybe devs/games get unlucky who their reviewers are and get reject  and some games get very lucky with who's reviewing the games application to be accepted.

I said "usually" :) There are many many more which are not to be found on Steam and the named one except maybe Timestamps work perfectly fine without any lewd content. In Mia the player can choose the relationship, which is ok.
Steam is loaded with crap games, there must be something seriously wrong if they deny the content or at least some people complaining loudly (Badass Babes was removed as well, which is a fighting game).

But you are right, we can't really know, it's just speculation.

In the end ... I don't care if the game is on Steam or not. I'm long past Steam and try to avoid it these days. What I do care that this apparently was the reason for not continuing it which ist just stupid.

Well actually I do care if it's on Steam for once, that seems like it's the whole reason they stopped working on it

I remembered something. The reason why he can't go to Steam and any other commercial platform (at the moment?) might be something different entirely, specificly this one:

Months ago I joked about it, that he might have to change the title. When going commercial, he surely has to - or pay for it.

No idea, if the name isn't trademarked it should be fine, but I can't see that's the reason it was rejected.

Steam honestly doesn't seem to care about incest at all based on what I've seen. Normally to get their panties in a bunch you either have to release something that takes place in high school, or have a character that "looks" underage even if she is not. Those are the 2 main reasons I've found lately. However, that's not to say that this dev didn't get one of the prick's with a vendetta against all AVN's, because those definitely exist at steam as well. And very rarely does steam actually give a rational answer as to why a title gets banned. They just normally hand out a cookie cutter response that it goes against current rules/regulations without stating exactly why. And once a title gets the ban, it's nearly impossible to get a new review. I think Chaos Head:Noah was the only one in recent memory that actually got overturned. As for exactly why this title got banned I have no clue. Just conjecture.

What I've seen, really the only thing Steam doesn't like is sex in school, I know that's what happened with Mia, that scene had to be removed, and change the name for it to be excepted, and that's all about family fuckery.

I hope the Dev would consider putting mini-updates of this game as long as it does not get abandoned. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters of this game.

I am pretty sure that Accolade did trademark the name.
i think that expired on bankrupt.

Intellectual property doesn't expire if a company goes bankrupt. Someone is selling the game legally, so that someone owns the rights now.
well yea accolade was bought and then buyer was bought (both times after bankrupt) so debatable if current owner still has trademarks on gamenames, new(est) owner has rights for games but does it have rights for names.
