Not sure how you get a false positive on a firewall with a specific IP address, but I'm gonna look into it more deeply when I get a chance.
Any system of security that is designed to identify (as part of securing a network) threats, run the risk of a "false positive". False Positives can occur when a scanner, (WAF - Web Application Firewall or IPS - Intrusion Prevention System) flags a security issue. that doesn't really exist. Of course if it is a static analysis (scanning) system then the likelihood of a false positive can actually be increased because the scan is based on the rules provided; that is, since there is no dynamic search and prevention logic in place anything that does not fall into the categorical rules already specified will be flagged as a potential threat.
I'm more familiar with antivirus software than firewall software and my understanding of networking outside of a local IP pool is rudimentary at best. It sounds like you're describing heuristic detection which is typically why games get nailed by an overzealous copy of Norton or McAfee. Those are certainly false positives. My concern is with a software firewall flagging the game's exe file for attempting an outgoing connection and specifying a specific IP address registered to a cloud-based data center. I'm wary of any game that's not an MMO or co-op attempting outbound TCP connections, porn or not. The only hits from my firewall were from games trying to use Google Analytics in some way. Of the few hits I've gotten, most were from other game platforms, such as Unity or HTML-based games. However, I've received only one hit from a Ren'Py game in the past and it was trying to connect to a domain registered by a domain anonymizing registar. That's sketch as fuck, so that game got deleted and the thread got ignored.
