hmmm i dunno i mean i see the argument but I'm team steph here.... gina has ulterior motives from the start, and while shes forthcoming about them that doesnt absolve the shallow want to get with married men.
One of the great things about this game is steph's personality is kinda like a schrodinger's cat; she simultaneously exists as the antagonist (as you laid out the argument for) and the loving partner. And the distinction between these two is a mere difference between how the mc perceives her.
If he trusts her, it turns out she's trustworthy. If he doubts her, it turns out she's deceptive. It wasnt until I played through other routes that I even considered she had less than upstanding thoughts or motivations. If you just play the husband as a normal guy, she's very much your partner in crime the whole game (with the exception of the scene i've complained about before where she doesnt discuss, but notifies the husband there will come a time when she'll be having extramarital sex alone).
i'm with johny on steph side as well,
especially i bet johny also read the new line of end_2
that the dev already put inside the last update for a new game over screen,
basically if we play it right she'll be our partner in crime with the only exception that one mystery of "who is she calling that morning"
but that also depend if we want to talk about it or just ignore it
because in any confidence she always on the phone when we woke up,
just different dialogue and tone for different path
(on the train route it's specifically mentioned as donny on script so that one is easy, even without reading the script)
the problem is we know all of it because we play a different route and even have different choices we picked in the bar conversation,
i don't think all of us has the exact same choices on the bar convo from the beginning to end
so i wanna see how the dev gonna tackle the different outcomes from this tbh
there's also a moment where if u started the game reading the receipt
even on high confidence MC will even have an inner monologue about Paul on club night if i remember correctly at one point (my memory is hazy on this one, too many saves to keep up lol)
