There are still things that she says, ways she treats the MC that I do not feel are "right." But I do think that there are parts of that dialogue that will be repaired in the future. They want us to enquire about her behavior without questioning her loyalty to her husband, it seems. Of course, that all depends on the path. I think that Steph will ultimately be a cheating bitch on the low-confidence path. Reinforcing that feeling in the MC that you get what you deserve.

"Earn" her respect with confidence. It goes against what most of us feel about love, marriage, and relationships, but this is a story that ultimately tells the tale the author wants us to experience. I do appreciate that.

if we go with what ending they prepared inside the game,
that real_end2 is indeed prepared for that one i assume

Yeah I am more at ease. It certainly was very good of him to take the time to write such a detailed and honest post. I am impressed, he wants to tell a good story. We know Steph is written to drive us crazy so that helped me understand why she is the way she is. I don't normally get this emotionally involved in a VN but for some reason this one grabbed me.

because from all the dialogues within the game that i've seen (most have read as well) there's no point even hinting a sharing situation at all

I'm too old to get embarrassed by my gaming habits. I play what I play and games like this one pop up on Steam anyway. My kids are all adults and have their own families or are dating. Its not a big deal to them. The only thing I keep low key is the type of relationship my wife and I have. Her situation is more complex professionally.

at least we know now this "mystery" is a part of the dialogue for the ending as well

actually that was a part what Grumpy Old Aussie was asking originally,
so what the dev said in short, her character was supposed to annoyed u there but not to drive "players" away


so i don't understand what part that made u think it's heading towards sharing from that


tho if ur on the "voyeur" route basically u open the "enjoying her by looking" door for the future logically, but that one will end up in a game over as well (since the new game over screen also hinted that on the dialogue in the script)

I definitely respect the dev's level of engagement with the players, but I'm afraid I'm with Saphfire here: this makes me more concerned about the game, not less.

If the whole point of the game is for Steph to drive us crazy, that suggests the game is going to be a constant NTR tease. Play it right and the MC and Steph will work out their issues and wind up in a strong, open relationship without either ever going too far; play things wrong and we accidentally drive Steph away. There's nothing wrong with that per se, but from my point of view it means that when the game finally gets to the part I'm looking forward to it will be over. That's such a waste of potential.

I know they plan to make more games after this, but we won't be playing as the MC and Steph. That again suggests the games won't be about swinging, they'll be about trying to swing. It's a subtle but very important difference. Obviously we'll see what winds up happening, but I fear my hunt for a genuine swinging game will continue.

Hah I relate, I'm in mid 30s right at that transition point asking myself a few weeks ago - "Hmmm, do I REALLY need to logoff steam everytime I play House Party as to conceal my public hours played? Am I worried about perceptions too much at this age? Iunno"

Exactly, I'm in the same camp as you guys on this. The entire idea of constant tension being desired is much more allied with the ntr school. That's not to say that a healthy swinging/sharing relationship can't have an element of sexual tension to make it fun, but most of what we're talking about isn't sexual tension, it's hardcore relationship tension.

The point about subtle differences isnt lost - that's often the case in this sphere; ala mark twain with [lightning and a lightning bug]. It makes all the difference in the world whether it's a couple trying to swing or actively and happily swinging, just as there's all the difference between Steph acting like a sexual maniac because both she and her husband enjoy it versus solely her own motivations.

Ironically it's that very distinction that kicks off the argument at the start of the game: Steph is [rightfully] suspicious that MCs desire to threesome with jason and tori isn't a joint creation from their relationship.

I think there is an aspect of Steph that makes you both correct and what we have been fearing all along. IF you play the low-confidence (unintended) route, you will experience a part of Steph that could be unpleasant for anyone who does not want that kind of content (the majority of the vocal people in this thread). But there are obviously people here that want the cuckold content. More power to them. I just am not one of those people and do not like the feeling that gives me in real life. Why would I want to feel that in a game?

You can avoid that content, and the bad endings, if you play the high- and medium-confidence route. And Steph will remain the loving, loyal, and slightly bitchy beautiful wife she is. I think we are safe from the whole game turning into an NTR nightmare fest.

Valid concerns. I only know what the Dev has posted. If you have Steam you can access the weekly updates the devs post. I haven't had a chance to read them all yet. They may give you some insight to what the devs are thinking re-swinging. I was hoping A life Worth Living would be a great swinging game, but the new update pics look like it is going NTR, which will probably kill it for me. I don't mind very specific types of NTR but straight out slutfests are not my thing. All I can say about Another Mans Wife is to wait a couple of updates and see what direction it goes.

it could ended that way
