If the actual game they are working on has like 200% content than this current demo it could be good, if it has a tiny bit more than we have now, rework of the system and 3 characters it's going to be trash

Demo was supposed to be just act 1 out of 4, the rework is for the gameplay loop so that the player doesn't feel punished. So in the full, last time I checked, was can be expected is 4 times the story content appoximately, more NPCs, more quests, 3 companions, companions personnal side quest and more (minigames if it wasn't scrapped)

The demo took time due to the whole core of the game being made, it's like with many games, once you got the core engine running, adding story, events, quests etc. Is way faster

While I can understand being hurt that a game takes a long time to make and that they announced the game too early, causing lot of delays to be visible, spreading false rumors about bans of people giving criticism is just evil, people who get banned there are breaking the rules repeatidly (WW2 germany related stuff, spam, harassment) and the person (mod or dev) throwing the banhammer must give the reason to everyone as to be transparent and not shadowban...

Yeah, 20k income yet it takes them 3 years to release this crappy demo man you sure love to defend those guys.

Now, while a forum isn't the place to discuss this, the server is public too so I'll keep it short... As I said, for the Matinee one, I can't talk of. For Naziboi, Kal himself admited he reacted too quickly and should have asked him to change his name before anything, now lurkers are left alone and if aren't lurkers, asked to change the offensive content.

For I-AM, he had gotten multiple warnings, and kept pushing the bar further and further seeing where he could get, which gave him even more warning. After enough warning, the gore thing was just the drop that made the vase overflow. And mind you, I say that as a friend of I-AM, and he himself said he understood and accepted the ban when I talked to him.

Keep defending them but in the end, we all know they are milking their own patreons there is no excuse that the rpgmaker game takes 3 years to develop when you have income bigger than most devs on this website lol.

Yeah, trash. The combat is mediocre, which is why they are changing the system(could still suck) hardly any content over the past 2 years, the drawing are nice but few, the world is empty etc etc so if they don't have a massive chunk of content coming with the complete game it's going to be trash.

just to throw my opinion in the open for 2 years i helped support this game and i finally gave up when i saw the shit demo they displayed after 3 years of working on the game so yes i can honestly say im not looking for anything great or halfway decent from this game anymore

Wow that's great news, considering the lack of news I thought it's gonna arrive 2022 at best. Only wonder how many hours of actual gameplay and how many H-scenes will be present. Regardless though I totally loved the demo version and think it will be a great basis for the new cash cow for Arvus games.

Luckily, unlike Roundscape, Arenus will release as a full game, there might be small content updates, but nothing major like Roundscape, which is part of why it takes so long to release, project's much bigger than devs had planned, even had to hire a new dev to help out

I wonder, how much will be of that full game. Will other 2 gladiators be included? Will story continue beyond that, what we could see now? How much of that story the game will have?
Still, I hope for the best - that the game will be succesfull enough, that they will decide to expand its universe, in similar way, they are doing it with Roundscape.

According to devs, demo is only 1 character out of 3 (each with a personal side story/quest), act 1 out of 4 in term of story (some acts are longer than the first act). Dunno if plans for those changed since they talked of this though

I'm worried, what can be achieved given that the release date is not that much away and what we have seen in last demo (that was produced for a long time). The developers were not making things better keeping very minimal comunication about the project. Look for example how New World (from Amazon) devs are doing such things after they decided to change some core fragments of the game. The Alpha is under NDA, but community receives regular updates about what they are doing and what are planning to do. Because of that, people, who are not invited in alpha testing are still more or less (probably less, since they do not have ability to play the game) informed how work is progressing. Sadly, Kaliyo team decided to took different route.
Lets hope, they are working hard on catching up with their vision of the game, as it is very good and it would be a shame, if they would just waste the potential.

keep in mind this has been in development since at least 2016 maybe even earlier. so the artwork most likely has been done for a while now. it's just kai has been working on gameplay and world design with a engine that is notorious for being stubborn. do totally agree he should have been more open with delvelmont and gave out a few more demos then he did

Let be honest, game was announced too early, of these years, not all 5 were spent working on arenus, and making a whole game is stressful for Kal hence why it'll be the last game with no community input (so basically after arenus it is back to roundscape type of releases)

Hey folks!
We're happy that we can finally announce the final release date for Arenus!
Arenus will be released on the 15th September 2021!

Of course we have some content planed until then.
Here's a small roadmap for the coming months.

The State of Arenus


Why is this release date different then the last one we had to delay? The ones of you who are active on our discord server may have noticed that we restructured our team. Dairnon, a professional Coder, joined our team fulltime and we're extremly confident in this release date.

Another reason of our confidence is that we're focusing completly on patreon. We'll release Arenus first exclusively on Patreon and on Steam at a later date. Publishing a game on multiple platforms is a lot of work and we don't want a publisher, we want to release Arenus without compromises. You folks made this game possible so it's an obvious decision to put steam behind patreon.
The Future
What happens afterwards? Of course we hope to produce new free content for Arenus after its release, if you folks want it.

Aside from that we want to focus on what works instead forcing what doesn't. It's way too early to talk about stuff, a lesson I learned the hard way.
We hope you're as excited as we are for Arenus! But also don't forget to check in for the Roundscape Content we'll release until then! Lots of cool stuff in the works.
