If this game doesn't come out with like 80% more content than this demo it's going to be bad, looking at the release tree they showed looks like the game was done long ago and voice acting should've been done after that too.. we will see

It's been 3 years and they only released a buggy demo with only 25% of a game content there are other games with an even smaller team who managed in 3 years with small Patreon donations, release a fully animated porn game with 90% content completed + community requests.

Yeah either they are just giving us a taste or they truly have nothing and this game will never come out or just be lacking content and bad

How many updates and how significant have they been? Genuinely curious.
I think they try to do 1 each month but I think often its more like every 2 months. They are generaly some new scenes and every few updates some new mechanics. But im not too deep into this subject so I could be mistaken.

Hmm, kinda lame and boring grinder... So dissapointed in developers.
The only redeeming factor that it is still a very early beta...

Well, to be fair, I never expect much of this game. I mean, look it's already 2021 :ROFLMAO:
I have so much expectation on roundscape before, and got disappointed. Not really looking forward for arenus tbh, but still I suppose I should appreciate their work a lil' bit by looking if there's a any update and test the game.

Around every 2 monts Roundscape got new content. They are currently working um remaking/expanding Oakshire i think (chosen by the patrons).

It is no wonder Arenus development is slow, RA is their main focus.

Twitter news:

"Reworked Arenus big time. The progression is now way more horizontal than vertical which fixed a lot of issues but there's still a ton of stuff to unlock everywhere. Can't wait for you folks to try it."

And more info on patreon, but i can't see it.

Hey folks,
today we're going to talk about the progress we made on Arenus.
Reworking Arenus
The feedback we've got from you guys on the demo was great, but there was also a lot of ideas and suggestions on how to improve the game. As a dev you often play and approach your game different than as a player, so thanks for all the helpful feedback!
Bad RNG should never punish the player
The first thing we've reworked was the RNG aspects of the game. Bad RNG shouldn't punish you and in the final version it won't. It's frustrating to have a bad run because of bad luck and simply bad game design. The next part will explain how we did so.

Horizontal Progression vs. Vertical Progression

If you've played the demo you probably felt the following questions while playing:
Am I doing everything right?
I feel like i'm missing something.
Is this the right choice in the long run?
Eliminating those questions was my main priority since the release of the demo. It took me a while to understand that the best way to do so is by switching to a more horizontal progression system.

What does that mean?
After each Arena fight most of the training bars return to zero and you have to choose on how to train your gladiator for the next fight. Customization being the new focus of the management aspect of Arenus.
Of course there will be bit of vertical progression. The skilltree remains, though heavily changed. For example you can invest a point to make sure that the power bar never goes below a certain level etc.
I can guarantee that you folks will like those changes, I do myself. And I say this as a gamer, not as a dev. The game feels unique and its just fun to try out different builds for each fight.

Massive changes but it doesn't stop there, we've added way more new features to the game. Such a new UI so you can see more details and open the menu with your mouse. We're experimenting with ways to make 100% mouse gameplay possible too.
We've added a civilian engine (which we've mentioned before) to make the streets more alive, added so many mini gameplay loops so there's something to discover every day in Arenus and we're generally super thrilled to share this new version of Arenus with you.

Thanks for your support and patience!

Next month we'll release the Oakshire rebuild update for Roundscape! Stay tuned!
