Those are all good points, and possible scenarios, on the downside, It feels like you don't think MC and Kindra are mature enogh to face the challenge by themselves (to grow up)
regarding Artemis, i don't think MC and Kindra want to weaponize her, there have been a lot of hints that they want the Androids to fullfill humanitarian tasks.
In my eyes MC and Kindra have to put Cassie in her place, she is their Demon.
The process of grief is something which goes over many years, and it is inevitable that you are remembered to comon activities with the person you lost.
Artemis is a story of overcoming, as I understood it.

What role could she play?

Mother to MC, motherly figure to Kindra, Head of Security for Kapuletti Industries, train Artemis for combat, giving Cassie the well deserved cunt-punt.

We also wouldn't have MC sulking every time Naomi brings up guns, or when he hikes through a forest, or when he eats meatballs...
That makes sense once she's back. But how do you get her back without it seeming forced?

The fundation is already laid, with June and Kindra wanting to investigate further and trying to bring MC to see his father who potentially can shed light into the story.

I've always felt there was a possibility she could be back. The secrecy behind her death, reinforced in the latest update that no body was recovered. Not that hard to bridge that gap with a cliché "Prisoner of War" story.

Or we could go way left field and say TWR have her body and she is effectively Robocop (but named HUNTER for copyright reasons).

I don't know. That's where I started, actually. I'm afraid it will ruin the story if Digi doesn't have an extremely good idea to develop.

I'd like to see what happens in this thread if Digi brings her in a wholesome role back :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I really don't think Kindra and June questioning shit will lead anywhere, not every sentence in a VN has to bear fruition, and even if it did, I think there's an even smaller chance of her being somehow alive rather than them accidentally stumbling upon some evidence of foul play or some shit like that.

As noted, there's just been too much built around his mom for her to come back. Having someone go KIA especially in covert ops is VERY common when it comes to deaths within military.

The problem is kinda:

She would have to be hold captive or something for the whole time.

Her being "just" undercover while her son was not even half a step away from suicide and thinking shes dead is ... not mother of the year behavior.

So there would have to be some kind of situation where ava was unable to ever make contact with him which sounds kinda far-fetched. I mean ... maybe she was 8 years in some taliban dungeon or something ... ?

But i feel like if that would be the case, the avn would need to be about how to help/heal/support ava an nothing else lol and im not sure we want such a huge distraction from the story.

Well, that's just dumb. How would she know anything going on back at home if she's either a prisoner, on deep undercover, or lost in the wilderness. Undercover agents on assignments have no contact with anyone but their handler. I doubt she's on something like that, or she would have prepared something to take care of him.

I mean MC only got suicidal after he sold all his Mom's shit to fund a project, which his long-term girlfriend fucked him out of. Not that this means much but the deep-cover situation is highly unlikely as she's a Marine, not a spy. Soo if she's a prisoner, she wouldn't know anything.

?

I think you misunderstoood my comment? I stated why i deem it very unlikely that shes still alive.

Edit: byaaahh yeah as i said, but if she was a prisoner for 8 years, how much of the points of her contributing to the story will she be able to achieve? She would need A LOT of support and help herself in that case. I doubt she would be in any condition to be the head of security for example.

Being locked up doesn't necessarily equate to being, what I assume you are alluding to, torture. We already know a Doc that can help her with the trauma, but she'd still have her training and experience to lead security for a corpo.

all of this is very nice. The question remains. How do we reasonably bring Ava back into the story? We have a year to think about it, if not more

Soooo, he does not want to be partners with her (K %50 - A %50) because he has trust issues... but accepts to be an employee (K %100 - A %0). It is a bit... uuuum... a bit... Do you know Pakleds from Star Trek Universe?
You can't get screwed out of 50%, if you don't have 50% to get screwed out of. :WeSmart:
Thats really something that bothers me too kinda.

Not necessarily about being a 50% partner as lets be real, kinda brings waaaaaaaaaaay more to the table.

And i know it wont be necessary - because this is an avn and kindra is a LI and cool - but esp after the whole cassandra thing and our MC becoming attached to Artemis he should have demanded to have a say in matters of artemis development and made that part of the contract, maybe a right to veto decisions or something like that.

As it stands now he is merely a simple employee and Kindra could use all his contributions however she wanted.

What would he do if Kindra suddenly would deem it necessary (for company growth or whatever) to turn Artemis into a military droid and sell them worlwide?

Sure we know that Kindra wont do that (because its an AVN and she a LI) and the MC may thinks he knows her good enough to not do that. But he thought that about vulvamort too ...

Shouldnt he somehow make sure that his code isnt used by the wrong people in the end? Who is kindra's heir at the moment? Her uncle? What if she would die after artemis completion? Our MC really could need some buisness lessons from Reina himself instead of just offering her to Kindra

Hes just very very very naive and apparently has not learned the right lesson after his traumatic experience.

Sometimes this guy really makes me question myself, how can he be such a genius plus good values and being a good teacher while being such a naive idiot at the same time
