Because you need glasses.why is the MC so unattractive?
The Dev probably wanted the main character to be somewhat relatable to the player, you know, like a mirrored version of yourself.why is the MC so unattractive?

I m more interested by what remains to be done than what you have done...Artemis DevLog CH6

Hey everyone,
Back in the groove my schedule.
I'm going to be switching to bi-weekly devlogs. I treat these devlogs usually as more of a diary of what I do during development because not every week is a measurement of progress. Some weeks I'll be working out an issue and its resolution and I like to share that kind of stuff. Or I'll talk about other areas of development, but for most I think find it boring and just want actual progress information. I'll try this out and for a few devlogs and see how it goes. Depending on the feedback, I'll go back to weekly updates. But for now, I'm just going to continue focusing on getting this update ready. So the next devlog will be not next week, but the following week.
Again, I'll read feedback and if you guys want to hear the boring side of development, I'll gladly ramble on about how I accidentally applied physics on the wrong body part. Then share how it reminded me of the face melting scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
This doesn't apply to previews. I'll continue to share those at any time.
Stay safe and hydrated everyone.

You're right about this part. Wrong about the rest.I'm gonna get some flack for this
Yeah because games like light of my life lacks depth and context. You're right about this part. Wrong about the rest.
Artemis has many supporting characters that give it depth and context. It's one of the things that make Artemis stand out from the run of the mill porn game. It's a mark of the effort that this dev is known for.
There are other VNs where seemingly only 5 or 6 people exist in the entire world. Some devs even just use manniquins instead of actually bothering with extras because half-ass solutions are easier than actually developing an environment. If that's the simplicity you're looking for, then there are plent of those to pick from. That's not Artemis though.
Let's be more precise. The dev could have achieved the same with half the LOVE INTERESTS. Cutting the number of characters in half would absolutely make the in-game universe feels small and be a bad idea.Yeah because games like light of my life lacks depth and context.
The dev could have achieved the same with half the characters, with the added bonus that the dev time would have been quicker.
Look at Corporate Culture for example, limited characters deep and engaging story with characters that are actually interesting.
But you do you. If you like it this way, good for you.
Apples and oranges, you talking about 2 completely different concepts of AVN, the other game you mention is a "family" game where the focus are on 2-3 chars (besides the MC) and a few more side characters that also don't add that much imho. But this is a sci-fi game, they usually are better if you don't limit too much and build an enough large in-game universe like Cabin Fever pointed out. Those kind of games along with fantasy and mystery/thriller work better with a bit more happening around it, so isn't bad more characters or plot events but not too much also, that is the balance the dev have to figure it out what is enough. At the moment seems still fine since this game seems at most at 1/4 or 1/3 of the total content in the end.Yeah because games like light of my life lacks depth and context.
