so.. i should wait for a better pre-patched version for now ? since it says it is version 1 ingame and i dont trust myself on installing this properly sadly

Weird. all i can suggest is font switching, though if that was the case you would have not be able to play at all.

getting compatability errors, game closes as soon as i click on something, anybody have a solution?

Sounds like either font or locale problem. try changing font if you can. if you can't that means you not running hte game under jp locale most likely.
could someone please provide a translation for the options, most of them are in JP and I'm not sure how to translate them since OCR doesn't seam to work

you need interface patch. there is one in the torrent download in main post so you can take it from there.
I'm using a locale emulator because changing system settings for a single game is a massive pain, using the patch causes the error message to stop but it's also causing font issues which make me think the locale emulator isn't reading the game properly when the patch is used. Do you know if this might be the case and if there's a way to stop it?

Can't say anything about sadly since i am permanently on japanese settings. Try changing fonts maybe? And see if there is something wrong with them, since i think some people here are playing through emulator and all is fine even with patch. alternatively try different emulator. though tbh i am not big specialist in them since as i said i am just changing system settings
No worries, thanks. I'll just roll with it, it's very minor ("..." turning into magnifying glasses and similar).

You are mistaken. What was available before seems to be more within the realm of raw MTL. This one is edited MTL, which, as it's been established, isn't automatically bad.
I mean, the guy you're quoting is frankly overreacting, but oh well.

At which point edited MTL turns into proper translation then? i have read for a bit by now and even with my meager Japanese i can see a lot of lines that are clearly not word to word translation but actually different sentences made to match the meaning. you do not get such things in MTL edited or not. Bigger problem is the fact that some lines are broken (ending is cut of) i have seen about 4 or 5 of those so far. not that it bothers me - but QC might be in order. unless it's mechanical limitations.
Edit: Ofc this is not a professional level translation by any means, but as fan translation it's more than passable. And tbf i have seen wore "official releases"

It really just depends whether the editor understands the line and surrounding context. Obviously that's going to be highly situational. In a worst-case scenario, the entire scene could be rewritten around a misunderstanding. More typically, inconsistencies will be littered throughout. A professional translation attempts to capture the original experience. It's going to be very hard to do that with an edited MTL, even a mostly accurate one. But for those who would never get to play Eushully's titles otherwise, an edited MTL could suffice.
