OP isn't being maintained, use this :
I have just googled "AA2unlimited 1.9.1" and found that same github page, was about to update my reply saying I found it on GitHub when I received your reply, haha! But thanks either way! The problem still persists in the 1.9.1 version, though.

Copy the error, ctrl+c works on error messages, and run it through google translate.
I tried to, but the message doesn't allow me to select its text. I took a screencap of the image and ran it through a "translate text from images" software, and the results were this:

I don't know what to make of this. My desktop resolution is 1920 x 1080 and I that message displays if I try to launch it on 1920 x 1080, as well as any resolution higher than 1366 x 768. They also all launch in 1366 x 768 after displaying the message.

I'm at least glad to know that "I can do it". Thanks, IllusionSoft. You guys are so sweet.

I wish I could be a bigger help but I can't think of anything that can cause that issue.

No worries, thanks anyway! Imma figure this out eventually (y)
Do you have any windows scaling settings applied? The settings it's applying almost look like lap top screen resolutions. If you are upscaling your screen it could give that error.

Got it running with the minipack and latest AAU, but the taskbar is covering up the bottom, is there some kind of setting in an ini somewhere I can change to force it on top, or do I have to tweak the resolution smaller to account for the bar and just live with it?

I have no idea if has already been asked before, but can anyone explain to me if there is some "gameplay" in the game other than sex scene manipulations by itself?

Is there anything for the player to seek other than simple sex? Perhaps some special interactions with girls, or the possibility to put yourself in particular situations that aren't just "Hey let's fuck!"?

I know that this question may sound a bit... vague, but I have no better way of expressing it at the moment.
Thank you to anyone that will answer me ^^

Riujin Not really, the game is the "rule" [rather than exception] for Illusion games: a glorified animation gallery. Short-term interactions are [relationship] stats grinders for sex, long-term interactions ARE sex. Add in the fact that relationships decay faster the more lovers you have - and you can never make the whole class love you (without manipulating settings like disabling hate gains, for example).

Illusion games are, ironically, hardly games, they are more character creators - highly customizable character creators - than anything else. Entertainment of the "make your own waifu/husbando and add them to the game world to have sex with them" variety.

There ARE "endings" of sorts, like getting your girlfriend pregnant / getting fired as a teacher for having sex with students / getting killed by a jealous/evil lover, et cetera. But there are no "winning conditions" since there is nothing to "win", in the first place.

And the worst thing is, AA2 is probably the one with most gameplay of them, or at least in TOP <few>. Imagine how it could be if they put some thought into that.

How would "gameplay" even work in AA? What sort of "gameplay" would that be? Designing a whole new franchise from scratch to accomodate that would probably be easier (to avoid blowing up what you already have, if nothing else).

I think it's a simple question of "market interest", there aren't that MANY GAMES with porn that have actual gameplay to it; the only ones that come to my mind are some specifics VNs and some H-RPGs that dare to change the formula, while the rest are simply "copy and paste". The target audience is probably not that MUCH interested in this sort of thing in my opinion; I could be wrong, but even the so much claimed Custom Maid 3d seemed VERY shallow to me in terms of gameplay, it was mostly a: design your waifu and fuck it, game. (I haven't played Custom order though, no idea if that improves on the gameplay side)

TL;DR Porn games with good gameplay probably don't sell that much

Tsugumi: Well, I admit that it probably sounded unfair, I aimed more for "sad frustration", not "harsh criticism". It's not like Illusion does it wrong, while others do it right. In fact, I can't think of good example of others doing it right. And Illusion definitely had some good ideas.

Character creator is a big one, that was fantastic idea. But it's not enough, e.g. HS/HS2 are just improved porn, not bad, but also nothing to be too excited about. Porn in general is boring, it's much more interesting with some depth, stories, personalities, emotions.

I like AA/AA2, because they feel lively, many NPCs you can freely interact with and they interact with each other, it's nice. Of course it worked best when it was new, after years it loses some power. But it's still reasonably enjoyable, even though it's basically just stats grinding (interact with someone repeatedly until they like or hate you or someone else).

AI Shoujo is nice idea too, island, free roaming, cool. But as "simulation crafting and survival game", as it's also described... yeah, right, there's a bit of it, but it gets boring pretty quickly. You can have some limited fun with clumsy house building, but it doesn't save it. And sure, on one hand it takes it away from porn, but on the other it's not necessarily bad, because just porn is not that interesting. And maybe it's just me, but the whole thing is kind of depressing, with the girls being some androids you get from pods, it's weird.

I don't have any sure recipe for perfect and successful game. But you know what, maybe start with putting existing ideas together and make Shipwreck Academy™. Nice island, free roaming, plenty of NPCs and interactions. Add some survival aspects that actually matter. Maybe (N)PCs can form aliances or tribes and interact also at this level. Perhaps some mini stories or quests, but that may be difficult, because while it could help a lot with sucking the player in, there's only so many you can add, and then what.

As for sexual content, add shitload of positions, or even better, invent some more free system where you don't have just the 100% fixed predefined ones. Maybe we're not there yet, but computers did get much more powerful and should be able to handle it. At least some illusion of more freedom. Slight variations in positions (movement of free limbs, ...), either random or depending on environment. Or transitions between positions, that would be awesome (and not easy, I know). I'd also say details, like body parts fitting perfectly in each other, because after all, sex should be very big part, but it's Japan, so not much chance for that.

Reading it again... I'll keep dreaming.

TL;DR Porn games with good gameplay probably don't sell that much
Residences on Mars don't sell either. Could it be similar problem? You know, maybe if there was one first... ;)
