Disclaimer: I have not played this game in over 2 years - I saw this thread and decided to check it out. I am only replying to this comment because I disagree with your statement.

I think it depends on the expectations you set as a developer and the expectations a player has entering the game. This is a porn game and some people are probably playing it only for the adult scenes and the story/dialogue. If you put in something that is vastly different it takes away some their enjoyment simply because they came in expecting something and were surprised when things were different in a bad way. From my perspective it is the same as why some people get annoyed when political ideology is shoved into games - you dont play games for politics you play for fun/escapism. Similarly I do not play porn games for grinding I play them for the story/dialogue and for the adult content.

If you want to add in grinding/minigames that is fine - other people might enjoy that but I do not think you should be surprised when people expecting something else dislike your game especially if your game did not have this in the past and it suddenly has it now.

, even our very early marketing/showcase material (from when we had not that many RPG mechanics) shows this aim/direction prominently.

So this is less a "we didn't understand each other" and more a "What do you mean I have to battle people in Pokemon? I just want the story."

Plus, what I was mocking is not so much the expectations of the game or personal tastes (because to each their own), but how people are labeling a game that is by every metric designed to be a relaxed stroll in the park a "hard grind."

Which ironically can give people the wrong expectation for the game...

The only complaint I can get behind is that Melkor's realm could use more polish in the gameplay department

Yes, Melkor's realm still needs development, specially polish, options to speed up gameplay and more interesting stuff to do. Which are certainly coming. (Some of these QoL things like shortcuts already got in)

Other than that, i feel like the main "drawback" of the realm is not having enough content on it yet, as the current 4 scenes make hard to justify the full run, but the planned +20 scenes there will likely change that and make the "grind" much more worth it in the average player perspective.

There are angel statues that reveal a whole floor (as a reward for exploring), they are quite common.

Looking forward to it. The improvements since the inception of this minigame have been really good. The thing I like the most about the changes, though, has to be the story implications. I like how we're fucking with Melkor every step of the way. First we freed the demon he'd trapped. Now we're turning his pocket dimension minions into cocksleeves. The contrast between this serious powerful old dwarf archmage and our sex on the brain protagonist who stumbled upon powerful magic is very amusing.

There's a minigame with generic dungeon monsters where after completing a certain quest you can, upon filling up a meter, fuck the monsters instead of fighing them. Only 3 of the monsters so far are fuckable, one of which turns from a male to female kobold. Thats as far as genderbending goes so far. Nothing MC related.

Hmm, it has a BDSM tag, but neither femdom or maledom tag. Can someone tell me in which direction this game swings, respectively how much control we have of our MC in that regard?

I might be mistaken, I haven't played it for quite awhile. (Looking forward to seeing what has been added since then, the game is gorgeous.) But if I recall correctly, there isn't particularly much power dynamics at play with most sexual interactions. There is some stuff that could technically classify as femdom or maledom, but I'd say generally the level is light maledom. Sometimes a female character will jump the main character and aggressively initiate a lewd encounter but I don't remember anything too hardcore.
But, like I said; my memory of the game isn't the best. I don't even remember to what the BDSM tag refers to. Maybe something added since the last time I played.

Even if it doesn't have the big fat tag that you're particularly interested in, I'd still recommend diving in. It's just generally a really pleasant game.

Does anyone know what changes Erza makes to the dungeon minigame? There's the bar on the right hand side that seems to auto-win battles, but I'm not sure if there's any other changes.
