Well. I am tired of reading people blaming another nibbas only for a H game so I want to make a question:
If the game releases tomorrow (for example), when we be able to dw it from this page? How many days took crack this game?
I doubt the Steam version will have any fancy DRM, and either way, it's being released on Patreon (presumably DRM free?)

There is no DRM, so no cracking required. As soon as somebody leaks it it will be there.
Ahahah and judging by amount of hate if will be leaked faster than some legit buyers could download the game :ROFLMAO:

I'm saying, people subconsciously perceive these numbers as progress.
And they do it wrong, so that's their problem if they don't even bother to search any info about that.

There is no rule book for this and you can pick whatever method you want.

But usually the first number only represents the version, "0" means an early version, pre-release or Alpha/Beta test version, "1" means a post release or final version, a "2" would represent major changes in the game mechanics and redesign from the previous version.

The second number represents an update, it could be anything from new mechanics to additional content but never something that goes as far as to change the core of the game to make look like something new.

And the third number is for fixes without adding anything new to the game (both this and the second number can also be called a Patch by the way, what would make it even more confusing by using that wording instead ).

No it simple doesn't make any sense that the dev(s) have to predict the future so they can name each version until the final release is a way they can then release all content in a balanced quantity to not confuse the poor costumers and it makes even less sense that they need to create more content out of nowher because the are now at version 0.42.0 and they are still missing 48 versions to reach v1.0.

If you don't like the numbers then don't bother with them.

I ran into this issue while working on the Imouto Fantasy translation, people assuming 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 etc were some sort of percentage, when in fact 85-95% of the translation was done on 0.1.

I solved the problem by confusing everyone by releasing version φ, sometimes annoying problems require solutions that are annoying in turn.

It wasn't. Before signing the papers, anyway.

"Loyalty" leads to being a paypig and endorsing of never ever finished projects which are thriving on paypig/simp mentality.

It's you who should to grow the fuck up. Vote with your wallet and your wallet only, act in customer interests. Stop being a massive cuck. Yes, this is a very good game. That still doesn't mean one should suck dev's cock 24/7.
What the fuck are you talking about? My wallet? We're on a piracy website.

Having respect for quality work doesn't make you weak, this project has earned a couple days of good will and you are in fact whining about something that is not a big deal at all. And what's this obsession with cucking? I'd hate to be so unconfident in the fidelity of my wife that I'm convinced she will magically have been fucked by another man if I don't yell about video game delays on the internet.

Showing respect to those who have earned it means you recognize quality and don't treat everyone like they owe you everything. This is a game you are not paying for and you're bitching about not getting to steal it fast enough. That's not knocking piracy, just knocking you. I'm entirely pro piracy and anti patreon scam, if you bothered to listen you'd understand that, but this sort of rabid pressure on devs is how we get disasters like cyberpunk. Shit happens, game development is an unpredictable process, and you don't have to be a dickhead all the time. Neither of us are paying for this game and you clearly have already made up your mind regardless of the facts or if your stance is rational or fair.

Well good luck trying to convince your audience they are all wrong. I can even predict the outcome.

But it is not me who you wan't to convince about using common naming rules - I'm totally agree with that system.

You are joking, right? Adequate devs have design document, which is in worst case scenario covers about 60% of major content, from the beginning to the end, except maybe minor details like sidestories or additional mechanics. To see how much progress they've made they just have to look into that document ad see what was implemented and what was not.
If there is no such document, then the development process bacame a shitty mess without any actual chance to succeed(regardles of what devs can say). You can see dozens of examples right here, on this site.

Don't you mean like 2 people, 5 at most. In all those years I saw a lot of complains, and some very weird ones, but complaining about versioning, that's definitely a first.

I know that, I probably always did, it's easy to tell when you are speaking with the "You are all wrong" type of person.

And someone that actually wants a way to measure the size/amount of updates/content of each version accurately uses something called Changelog.

Because names and numbers can mean a lot or absolutely nothing depending on the game/developer, but changelogs as long as the information contained on them is true they can provide you with all the details you need to know.
If a game doesn't have such a thing and the dev(s) can't provided you with something of that sort then maybe, just maybe you have a good excuse to distrust them, because complaining about versioning by itself sounds pathetic to me.

Quote me where I whine about the delay or disrespect the dev in question, I dare you. It's your attitude pissed me off enough to reply. "oH pLeAsE, don't be mean to the devs guys! Have respect, this is quality game!". Jesus.

Apparently you're out of the loop, the term "cuck" lately went also beyond sexual context. As if you're ready to put up with a lot as long as the game in question is *good*. You say you're anti-patreon scam and at the same time saying stuff like "game development is an unpredictable process". That doesn't make a lot of sense. No one should care about development hick-ups except for the devs themselves. You talk about respect for the dev while the dev in question suddenly postponed the release by 6 months (that's not exactly respectful from him to his patrons and potential customers if you ask me).

Lastly you're allegedly pro-piracy and care about peoples manners here towards the devs? That's just absurd to me. Devs seek money, not nice words. If you want to "show respect" - support the dev with your wallet, not with post which appeal for people to be nice, that was my entire point.

There's a balance between being a pirate for normal ethical reasons (not making financial commitments until a product is finished, or pirating for archival purposes, or supporting those who can't afford art to be able to experience said art, etc.) and being a dick to a dev (who, remember, is a human being).

A lot of devs actively engage with their f95 communities because they understand that piracy doesn't directly harm them; fostering a positive enough community will raise awareness for those who do have the means to support them; and fostering feedback and modding communities is a good thing whether it's from paying customers or not.

Many times has a dev sadly quit their f95 engagement (Multby6 of Succubus Hunt being a recent one) due to one asshole being rude or otherwise shitty towards them, which then ruins the fun of that engagement for everyone. It's sad and pointless.

If you want to "show respect" - support the dev with your wallet, not with post which appeal for people to be nice, that was my entire point.
Kind of similar to the above point, but devs care about their communities, and the reception of the art they've poured thousands of hours into creating. Yes, they need money, but that doesn't have to be exclusive of also caring about the human aspects of all this.

And again, those without the means or desire to support financially can

a) Foster good communities to spread the word of the game
b) Provide feedback
c) Make mods and fanart, which again helps in raising awareness and interest in the dev's game

None of those are essential in the way that making money is, but it's not like they don't exist.

The fact that you treat respecting another person as some novel utopian concept is telling enough on it's own, frankly. If you don't see the game being good as a reason to treat the ones who made it respectfully then I really don't know what to say to you. I don't know how to reason with a person who struggles with such an elementary moral principal.

It seems like you think that being rude is strong and being kind is weak, and that just kind of bums me out and makes me want to end this conversation because it's going nowhere fast.

Ooh...
I thought you guys are arguing because that make the people from the Dev, Publisher, Steam look at this and goes "oh my, we made those pirate from f95 wait! We must do better!"
Damn, so it's just in-house f95 argument. And here I thought that complaining about version number and whether Dev/Pub/Steam are just stalling for money actually make it appear here faster.

Silly me.

That just means they don't really need f95 anymore. Case in point - notorious Dr Pink Cake. Or they're massive snowflakes in which case I doubt they're able to produce anything worthwhile (the last one is just me I guess). This forum has the ignore feature by the way, "random asshole" cannot be a problem.

Being a dick to someone seems very human to me. I assume what you're suggesting is to sanitize this entire place and personally I'm strongly against that. When you create safe spacer's heaven as you say "feedback" diminish its value by a lot if not completely. You obviously don't necessarily need to use strong words when criticize someone's work but people like you may consider being negative as enough of an issue. This especially important on this site when you have so, so many utter trash games around (and untrustworthy devs). Left the rest for various stats as likes, views, ratings, the amount of discussion by itself etc etc.
And again, those without the means or desire to support financially can

I'm not at all against that. I'm against unreasonable dev dick-sucking.

That's a very, very strange interpretation of my words but you do you I guess. In any case, someone else addressed my point for you so.

still no aurelia v1.0 :( and its 25th of the november
most of the world is still in 24th (example it's 9pm Sunday 24th for me and in America it's middle of the day/early afternoon). And if Steam is EU or even NA oriented company then it will take from 20h to 36~40hours to start their work and "approve" the game or just dev will come out with another excuse and announce new delay (like early December)
