Don't forget gigantic cock that could be used as blunt weapon in fighting games. But to be fair though, I think writing a good incest story would be more challenging for most creators, especially since most of them are amateurs without prior experience. Added with the fact that incest is frowned upon and very rare in real life, there's not that many ways for these people to figure out what good storyline would be like.
Rather than the patreon business model itself, I actually think it's more about the creators wanting to cash in quickly in a sense that they'd want to get the money while they still can. So they try to include sex/nudity as soon as they could without really making a proper backstory. If they want to create a good quality adult video game first and foremost, they could create a game that is clearly above the common adult games. That would make people actually appreciate the quality and then want to be patrons.
That's exactly what we've been trying to do in this game, but you know what the main complain was (also in this thread) when we did? "Why are there no sex scenes yet?". So the hardest part, of course, is finding a balance between 'sexy' and 'sex' without weakening the plot or losing players/patreons interest. That's our main interest, sometimes we might fail, but the intention of rewriting to thicken the plot is always there.
If I had to pull a number out of my ass, I'd say 95% of this game's players on F95 download(ed) the game from here, and 80% of are first time players. But there's just too many variables to say with any certainty. Personally, I am patron of 6 games (all small projects that would value my dollars as much as I do), and I've played at least 100 different ones in the last 6 months. I played this one a month or two ago and added it to my watch list because I want to give it a few months to fill out more to see if it's something I'd support. Same as a dozen other games. I think people that have been around this scene for a while are not as fast to open their wallets because they've seen how devs can operate sometimes.
I honestly think that it really depends on the quality of the game in overall (not just the renders, but the writing, the storyline, the gameplay, etc) because while sex is obviously an important part of an adult game, it is by no means an extreme necessity if accompanied by solid writing, careful planning, and smart baiting. Take a look at DMD as an example where it has been up to version 12, still no sex scene between the MC and the daughter, and remains popular. They kept away the main dish, but they continuously presented side dishes. It helps as well that the writing is pretty good.
