VN Ren'Py Abandoned Babysitting Cream: BetaMix Edition [v0.3.5] [Novilon]

Hanging out in the mall used to be a big thing for teenagers and college kids, especially on weekends. (Maybe it still is; I haven't been to one in quite a while myself, because where I live now, the nearest one is in the next county over and you more-or-less have to take the toll road to get there in any reasonable amount of time.) But when the mall basically only has six places you can visit, and three of them are clothing stores... yeah, not exactly worthy of an all-day trip.

Yeah, I used to love going to the mall a good few years ago, but after moving states for school and moving back? The mall I used to go to, is... lack luster. Sure the shops are fun and all, but since the Funky Virus hit, the arcade shut down, and being near a native american reservation... Conditions of said mall are, a bit lack luster, especially with the claw machines, and other various prize winning ones about. Everything else is mostly fine. But still, it's fun, but missing a lot. So Perhaps when the mall overhaul might happen, I do have a few ideas.

- Food Court/ Restaurants like mentioned before
- Gaming Store
- Entertainment areas (Mall I go to still, installed an Escape Room place)
- Rotation of Movies (Not neccessary, but it could be a way to encourage replay value of having a different movie list than the standard 3, or even adding more to it)
- Random RWC events like pop-up stores in the middle of the floor/section of the mall (Again, going off of the mall I frequent, and memories of other malls. Sometimes, there's a random pop-up shop between the stalls, and rest areas. Mostly toys, puzzles, and random calendars.)

And that's all, just a few sections to flesh out said mall/"city" section of the game. Speaking of which... for going into the "City" you barely see any of it beyond the park, mall, fountain square, and movie theatre normally... right?

All of the above are reasonable ideas, though I'm not sure how many of them I'll actually want to use... There are only 7 "days" in the game in which to accomplish your goals, after all, so I'd need to find the right balance between having enough alternative activities downtown to keep it from feeling like a daily grind of same-old-same-old, but not so many that the player gets overwhelmed trying to keep track of which paths and events lead to actual achievements (or block them), and which ones are just false trails that lead nowhere.

Speaking of which... for going into the "City" you barely see any of it beyond the park, mall, fountain square, and movie theatre normally... right?

Yeah, "the City" is pretty much limited to those four places -- and the Mochi-Mochi porn store once you get the map from Amy. Realistically, the City should have a couple more places to go, as well... but, again, balancing act.

Regardless of what point you are at in the game, It treats it like you're taking Cream's virginity for the first time and knocks you out for the rest of the day no mater how many times you do it. Understandably, if you're already having sex with Cream, it's just better to take the route of taking off her panties and skipping to the best part, but it's still incredibly weird to have the former path as an option after already having sex, especially if you're not expecting it, it just robs you of the rest of the day

Well, it did have a tiny bit of a re-write between AX's and FB's versions...I don't remember being able to poke around in the bedroom when she's not in there to see the naughty cartoon drawings in AX's version.

IIRC you need to have at least managed to of 'fondled' her to trigger the spying event

As has been noted numerous times before, pregnancy doesn't really work in this game since it only spans 7 days. So it's not likely that the subject would actually come up very often.

Not unless someone wants to actually go to the trouble of drawing some, and provide me with some sample Ren'Py code showing how to actually make it work. ( Ren'Py, for some incomprehensible reason, doesn't directly support animated GIF images, so it's not trivial to make it work, apparently.)

This should always trigger a scene in which Cream sneaks up to peek in on you while you're showering / masturbating. Exactly what will happen depends on what, if anything, you've already succeeded in doing with her (the "fondled Cream", "got handjob from Cream", "got blowjob from Cream", and "went down on Cream" control how the scene proceeds once she peeks in on you -- and holy hell, is that scene a big pile of spaghetti code!), but you should always, at minimum, get her peeking in on you.

Finding the "naughty photos" should be a 20% chance in the current code. It's possible that needs some adjustment; Cream's Room is one of the modules I haven't really done anything with yet.

Ah. Okay, for that to happen, you have to get your Exposure score above 9 first. However, she won't join you in the shower unless either one of three conditions is met: your RWC is 450 or higher; you have already succeeded in convincing her to get naked; or you have gotten at least one of the "fondled", "went down on", or "got blowjob from" achievements.

Do you mean there's three stages to how that goes? Huh, there always seems to be content in this game that I have yet to find.

And I think they mean the scene where you use the shower like normal to restore energy, there's a chance that Cream peaks in on Sonic. You can choose to ignore her, 'give her a show', or invite her in. That's the one they were asking about.

The trouble with movie formats is that, as far as I know, none of them really support transparency, so you can't overlay them on top of the backgrounds.

Given that animated GIFs are one of the most widely-used formats for that kind of thing, it seems like a rather glaring oversight that Renpy doesn't support it, really.

Either way, actually having the "series of image files" is still the sticking point, I suppose. Animation is a lot of work; I don't know if any of the current artists would be willing to go to quite that much effort. I'll keep that code snippet handy in case it ever comes up, though!
