People are just hoping that he will continue updating the game. If his support drops to 0 he would completely abandon the project even if he has free time and a working patreon account.

You fail to understand how patreon works. People support creators to encourage them to continue working on a project. People support Rainces hoping that he continues working on the game. It's really not that complicated.

For me this game is two heads higher than everything else ones can find here. And I'm glad that we have a couple hundred people willing to risk about a hundred $ or so a year in the hope that the project will continue. As for me, teach developers a lesson in other branches.
