Put in to the correct folder named "game"

The current patch is for v0.02b (windows) and the latest update is v0.03a. The patch will take you a distance before it breaks the game due to the patch being expired.

Others may explain it better, but I gave you the short, basic for now

I assume you both use the icpatch who is for the 0.02b version and the game is 0.03a that's were your error come from. Wait for the patch update or play without it are the two only solution.
