Given the love for it here, I'm surprised at the level of the Val ending compared to other solo endings (especially Zenda). And who would imagine that the "alone" ending would get the same percentage as some of the solo girl endings, and even higher than one of them? (And I thought Sadie was well-loved?!)

I think that's because most of the people that would have voted for some of those solo endings instead would rather have the package deal aka the harem ending(s). It also explains why the girls that aren't part of the harem have more voters than the rest of the solo endings. 9/8% vs 7% for the harem girl with the most votes.

True, that's the thing with only one vote allowed. But I guess you have to have a limit, otherwise you might get people voting for all, and no useable data!

Well he is asking for people's "favorite" ending. Letting people vote multiple times on that is counterintuitive.

Sorry, yeah, I was thinking more in general terms, but they wouldn't apply to this particular poll for the reason you state!

I was actually a little surprised that the multiple endings didn't score higher. With the solo endings/alone receiving 31% that's almost 1 in 3 players. With the amount of 'where harem' players floating around, I didn't think monogamy ends would close to be 1 in 3.

Thanks. Expected a blowout for the harem endings but that's even more ridiculous than I imagined.
Sucks to be reminded that non harem enjoyers are the minority among the H-game playerbase. I don't hate harem content/endings, but feel like Heidi solo was easily the best, followed by several other solos before getting to the multi-girl endings.

I think that comparison is skewed by the other girls having a non solo route ending. If there were no harem endings, I expect several of the ones involved in them would have higher rankings among solo endings, and if those two had harem endings, I expect their solo ranks would drop significantly.

Speaking for myself and the impression I get in their Discord from other Patrons, BW has some of the most enjoyable poly paths in AVNs (and I personally consider "poly" paths to be meaningfully distinct from "harem").

Given this, it's really not surprising that they attract other supporters that are poly fans.

Personally, I really liked Athena and Mora with Heidi right behind, so going for their quad path at first was a no brainer. Since I also liked Sadie (though not quite as much as those other three), going for MASH was more of a "sure, why not add another so she doesn't feel left out".

Most likely true, though I'll mention Val has a strong fan base on their Discord and it's the favorite ending of one of the devs.

Sadie solo was my favorite, but I liked all the solo paths except Heidi, better than the poly ones. Makes me in the super-minority, I guess.
Shame Steam users didn't get a vote. Don't think there is really a good polling system for Steam games though.

Part of the reason they did the recent Patreon poll was because they were looking at % of people that got each of the various ending achievements on Steam, and surprisingly few got HAM or MASH compared to Patrons and polls in the Discord. Not the best measure by any means of determining which ending is a "favorite" with Steam players, but still interesting.

Edit: While we're on the topic, not sure if this has been shared here or not yet, but their upcoming Heaven's Door game will be an optionally full harem game. Meaning, if you want to, you'll be able to be with all 11 main LIs + 1 side at once, but any LIs you choose not to be with won't just vanish from your story like they kinda do in BW.

I would be useless then for those sort of polls because I literally played all possible paths, where does that put me :ROFLMAO: But I get it, I played the game pretty much from the start, but if someone just does it as a one-off, they'll miss a LOT of content.

To clarify, the Discord and Patreon polls asked which ending was your favorite, not which you completed. But that info isn't easily acquired for Steam users so they were just looking at achievements to see if that provided any useful insight.

I do suspect a lot of Steam players really only did 1-2 paths, and honestly HAM and MASH are somewhat tricky to get on a first blind playthrough, especially if you don't know they're even possible.

0.4 was the latest build I played. Is that what this Steam version is?

Sorry, I did not see the Completed tag and the download says 0.5

Both the Steam and Patreon versions are complete, however Steam has some additional bug fixes so is technically the most updated version. It also unfortunately has most the original music replaced with new music due to licensing issues.

Surely someone here can do a hybrid release, the 0.5 release with the script files from the Steam release.

The scripts load music by file name, so you'd have to manually replace every single line that plays a song in the Steam scripts with the Patreon music. Probably do-able, but tedious and time consuming.
