Calm down there, sweetie. It is a porn game, not a novel by Dostoevsky. I bet you are pissed at all those chicks fucking the plumber in old porn movies because obviously, that guy isn't a real plumber. Sometimes you just gotta massage the plot a little to get a round peg to slide into a round hole, dig? It ain't Shakespeare, but it does its job. The Typist is certainly putting in more time and effort to hone their craft to the point that they can please even implacable critics, but a lot of people are making unfair assumptions based on the previous game, which was the porn game equivalent of a first draft manuscript. I have a lot of faith in this project. Let's just do our best to reserve judgment until there is enough work to judge.

Its a very basic way of gaining stat points. I can add stat points to any choice the player makes, it helps devs like me be able to create branching content. So, it doesn't just mean literally male dom and fem dom, it's just how I labeled those particular points.
I could have called it "Cod points" and "Battlefield points" or some random thing, but it helps me keep track. There will be plenty, plenty more stats to collect, you're just seeing some of the few in the very first release.

It’s a bit crazy to assume just because a couples been together since high school, they’re always going to be perfect. That, I feel should go without saying just in general. My parents were high school sweet hearts turned divorcees that despise one another.

I think you're right for the most part, and the guy you replied to definitely didn't have anything of substance to add to the conversation. But, on the topic of critiques in general, I don't believe that's a bad thing. There is no such thing as a work of writing that can't be critiqued in some way shape or form, especially if you are referring to a writer trying to improve and hone their craft. That being said, whining about how you personally don't like something and making a fuss about a non-pertinent topic like the pirate site overview of the game like canto did shouldn't be taken seriously. If anyone takes the time to give Typist an in depth review of the content itself with substantial pointers, that's a fair judgement that only stands to help him improve further as time goes on. Maybe porn games aren't his end goal, and he wants to work his way to writing like Dostoevsky or Asimov with NTR stuff, only he knows that. Point I'm trying to make is, effort put into something doesn't exempt it from critique, but rather earns it as good critique is the most valuable thing for any writer, no matter how experienced they are.

I do agree with you. I do tend toward hyperbole when trying to make a point but that is mostly for comedic effect. But as I said I find that many of the criticisms aimed could easily be aimed at the entire genre. You could pick 10 games off this site and they would apply to 9 of them. I am incisive with my criticism and unabashed about pointing out what I like and don't like, but all I ask is that folks be a good sport about it and not apply unrealistic standards for devs to meet. I myself tend to be very forgiving of works in progress and a little more merciless to works that have been marked as completed. Although it could easily be argued that it is more helpful to swap that and be tougher on a work when changes are still made, my personal bias is toward preventing more abandoned tags from sprouting up on this site because posters are convincing the devs that their work is not salvageable. When you are working within the constraints of a particular genre or medium there are certain things that you are just not going to be able to do. There are also plenty of things you can do but you've always got to ask yourself if you should do it first. But your point is well taken. Ideally, forums like this would be filled with more of the constructive criticism we would both like to see.

I agree. Good criticism isn't just saying whats wrong, but providing advise or hints on general ways to improve. Thats not 'I like stories about the kazoo, so you need to write 40 pages of dialogue about learning to play strange woodwind instruments' but more like 'hey, I noticed that youre stuffing a lot of exposition into the dialogue and its very dry. Try filling your dialogue with more character related writing and leave more of the exposition to things like fights, background, clues, events, etc so it flows and builds naturally as the player progresses'. General construction and criticism for large overarching issues rather than porn karen raging about things you dont like. I know when I usually critique writing I can be harsh, but I never give harsh criticism without trying to help with fixing it with a thorough explanation. When that kind of criticism is more readily available, I think the quality of games will improve greatly in general.
