It seems they saw the Batman movie and they became what they fear most (me!), still I can kill plenty of them in this game, time to give it a try and kill as many goblins and hogoblins as I can...

Why are all this RPGM products female protagonist?

Most of the female protagonist games seem to revolve around corruption and moral degeneration. If this forum's anything to go by, when you throw a male protag into the mix, people start getting butthurt that the guy's letting her sleep around and start calling him a cuck. The point of these games aren't to get with the girl or treat her nice, it's to watch her get taken advantage of until she starts craving it from everyone.

Follow the folder location in the error messae, you'll find a 'doanobu02.ogg file, I copied that and renamed the copy to 'doanobu0202', appears to have fixed it with no ill effects.
