I know this answer is coming late and it may no longer be an issue for you, but I just came upon a post somewhere else, where someone reported not being able to save, unless the game was extracted from the .rar archive first. I didn't even consider that option before, since I didn't even know the game could be played without extracting it first.
Could this be your problem?

The newest version is available for android. Go to balsagames.com. Look in the FAQ section.
Yes and No. It is finished for bal, but we have 1-2 modders here, Most likely King, going to give us More content with MOD.

I don't know why, but the newest walkthrough doesn't show, how to get every scene.

Buy the bulb for 50t from the smuggler and give it to one of the freman leaders and they start terraforming Dune. You get the scene once habitability reaches 50%
If this has already been discovered and stated I appologize but I did not want to read all of the comments on previous pages but still wanted to share. I could not save my game and game would not autosave when I exited. Also it would crash sometimes so I was unable to get past a certain point before having to start over again. I am running windows 11 pro. I believe all the problems are with windows 11. I opened a windows 10 virtual machine in hyper v and I am able to save and game auto saves and has not crashed on me as of yet. so based on my experience it would seem that something about windows 11 seems to disagree with this game. Im unsure if my experience is the same as others but just wanted to share in case this might help someone else.
Just wanted to know any progress with Balsa in discord, did he reply and what about the mod itself, please share any details.

You might also want to make sure your exe is named exactly BehindTheDune.exe as sometimes people have problems saving when the name of the executable is different (for example, when manually including version numbers).

Have you played it? Yes, the file says it is 2.35, but so does the exe and it is 2.35.8 after all. I can't test the apk, myself.
Sure, why not, if you've already done it. It can't hurt to share it.

Hey everyone! Who would be interested in a HTML game reboot/reimagining of Behind The Dune? Just trying to gauge the amount of interest in this before I start fully working on it.
Although I know some people hate AI generated artwork, I have no art skills myself so it would make use of stable diffusion for the images and character designs. I've attached some examples of the characters to this post using the desired artstyle I'm going for. Please give me feedback on them!
