For me, I enjoy games because they are convenient, can have engaging stories and are less passive than porn. Any outright depravity in a game is something I tolerate (if it isn't too OTP or brutal). I definitely don't go looking for it.
I can barely comprehend some of the preferences in the community, but I don't project my values and desires on others. You play FIFA, I'll play Skyrim and the next guy plays GTA.

I thought I had seen everything on this thread. But today there is this: DrPinkCake can't think ahead. SAY WHAT!?
Are there people out there who don't know that the basic plot for Acting Lessons was thought out from beginning to end before it was started? DrPinkCake wanted to tell a certain story, with a specific ending, and he did.
I am absolutely certain that he has mapped out each of the main characters' basic arcs for this game. He will make modifications along the way, as he thinks of them. But the basic plot outline is already written.
This is how good authors work. George R. R. Martin knew the basic plot line of A Song of Ice and Fire, before he started writing it. He was able to give the TV writers the outline before they began the HBO series. Of course, the details sometime take time to flesh out and piece together. Witness the TV series just ending, and the novel series still with two books to go [and waiting impatiently].
I'm not expecting DrPinkCake to be Martin or Tolstoy, but I do expect him to be competent in creating a story.

AL was bitter-sweet since the very first ep.Leah having pictures of every single sexual encounter MC had was a bit much but it`s a game,it`s ok.Replaying it recently,I appreciated the ending more,being forced into choosing one or the other(as sad as it was),also forced me into admitting which one of those 2 great girls I really wanted.
As for writting in DIK it has been top notch so far,completely different level than most of the games of this type.

I don't expect heavy corruption but more like a "that character discover herself and become more open/kinky/sexy. I obviously know that this isn't the game were the girl becomes the university cumdumpster but i expect a little development in the sexual department.
I don't know, vanilla for me is normal sex. How can i explain? Every day sex. Threesome, public sex are not vanilla for me. Vanilla is more simple: kissing, cuddling, "love". We can say like this: vanilla is love, not sex. It's too simplistic but i think it gives you the idea. So incest can be vanilla too.

And corruption is not mind control. Corruption for me is more like moral degeneration that start with various reasons. In this sense i think a game like GGGB is a good example where a "good girl goes bad" because the situations, the people around her, her choices lead to that road. Acting Lessons was pure melodrama, and that did not please a lot of people. There were a lot of critics of that game that were turned off, and have not been seen here. [Burt Reynolds Mustache has not written a word on this thread.] But, DrPinkCake knew what he was doing, and has always been able to create characters that draw you in.

I'd also submit Runey as another excellent storyteller in my opinion. They're able to get you emotionally involved in the characters. That's more than just good writing.
Yar, I'm leery about referencing other games / devs too heavily in one game's particular thread.

Yup, you are right - swingers, cheating or NTR are not vanilla. But threesome - MC and 2 girls - is something else. Life with Mary comes to mind.
I get it what you expect but I'm not sure if the story will go that way. I have a feeling DPC will punish our "wicked" choices. But, we'll see...

Yeah, that drama was something I couldn't really understand. That's why I didn't want to have a part in that.
I mean, I'm kind of guy who can't even play bad guy in the games and I'm all for sweet stories but more than anything else - I want to read/watch/listen/play what author had in his mind. If someone wants the story that will go a certain way and with one particular ending, then he/she should write that story for himself/herself.
Just a fair warning: BaDIK has warning screen at the start with (my sweet) Maya. Shit will happen and if you are not prepared or doesn't want to deal with it, maybe you should think again if this game is for you.

Now that I think about it, this new girl is most definitely Maya's roommate. The fact that we would convince her to pledge just shows she's new and hasn't joined any frats yet. So then the MC moves out and shares a room with Jill for a night? Too far-fetched or nah?
