If Jade is permanently closed off (as I suspect, given how Cathy is auto-cutoff as well), it's probably for some sort of play balance reasons; keep equivalent content on different 'paths.'

That said, Jade is a rather vindictive woman. I can see her being pretty pissed when the MC leaves her hanging, especially since the whole point of the tryst was to prove she was still sexy and desirable. The fact he has a 'legitimate' excuse just isn't relevant from her end. (And heaven help the MC if she learns the real reason!)
Perhaps it would be playing with fire a bit and sure, she might not accept an excuse of "frat hazing" or a half-truth that the Cathy pic caused a panic and it made him forget their rendezvous, but it's not like it isn't worth a shot. I hope he at least tries to explain himself and smooth things over, but even if it is for "play balance" I still don't see why a Neutral or CHICK MC who's still with M&J can't have a little fun with Jade and Cathy.

The preview pic. Jill playing the piano in full formal dress is hard to explain otherwise.

We never learned exactly when the concert was supposed to occur:

It's obviously in the near future, but beyond that it's hard to say. The MC's response implies it's still a ways out, but then again he thought his birthday was too and that seems to have been a week away. Given this was back in Episode 3, it does feel like enough time has passed out of game to pay off that plot plot thread so I'm adding it to the list.
Jill could just be playing her piano in the Prep mansion. The dress she has on, to me, seems more like a summer dress that one she'd wear on stage at a concert. I've been to many classical concerts and never seen any of the female musicians wearing anything quite that revealing or even bright as the dress code tends to be more demure with neutral colours like black, grey, and dark blues. Obviously since this is an adult game the rules can be different, but I would think that someone like Jill would wear something a lot classier when performing on stage.

I don't think that if we dump Jade to be with Maya and Josy there is any chance of recovering, and this for several reasons.

it would be a trap, ok the free pass MC gets at the picnic, but I doubt that an adventure with a teacher would be well received.

this would also be "out of character", if MC manages to convince Maya and Josy it means that he is neutral / CHICK, something he has to give up

highly subjective motivation: for me the adventures with Jade and Cathy are a "compensation" from DPC for those players who find themselves excluded for reasons of affinity from the triangle with Maya and Josy (which is clearly the canon story at the head of DPC)

I reckon the mini games will never get that specific. After all, he probably wants the average player to pass them, and is probably not interested in recreating the college experience that accurately, lol.
I am leaning towards the idea that Porn Games could also be useful in terms of giving some knowledge at basic level. For example, in Melody, the MC taught Melody a history of music, and for me it was very cognitive. As of MC being an engineer student, there could be a Visual Design/Rendering classes, where DPC could share his own personal experience in such areas. Some simple things, without digging into more hardcore specifics.

THis game really got my attention, i love it, the emotion shown in each character, the story is funny and dramatic on many levels.

I agree that encountering that kind of mini game could make things more enjoyable, when done moderately, but I also can imagine some of his patrons complaining for even a slight increase in difficulty. Then again, they could always play without mini games. *shrugs*

Problem is the “hardcore specifics” is 99% of CAD/CAE software. Knowing how to use the various restrictions the software has to make the maths it does possible and still make what you need is the bit you learn. It’s why people specialise because different software does things slightly differently.

Without the nonsense that comes with facilitating the maths you’re just using Microsoft Paint.

Don’t get me wrong he could make more interesting engineering mini games but modern design software is weird in that is such bespoke software nothing of value comes from imitating it. You wouldn’t learn anything.

total side note... if you’re actually interested in this kinda shit the software is largely free. Hobby licenses exist for all major programs and it’s easy to learn to the point engineers don’t really do their own CAD work (at least in my field). I haven’t in years, we hire technicians who need no qualifications just experience.

This week I've been coding and polishing the episode while the PCs render animations and static renders.

Approximately 50 static renders and 25 animations remain in the render queue.

Some of the animations are more demanding to render than others, meaning that the number of frames per animation and render speed per frame vary.

It's too early to try and predict the remaining time accurately, I have a few demanding animations left in the queue and also some faster ones to render.

I estimate that we're waiting for something like 2000-3000 animation frames to render in total.

I have plenty of things to do while waiting. This week I've been putting together the remaining free roam events and they are now playable.

The next week will be spent on playtesting the episode thoroughly, making sure everything I want in the episode is there and that the content is polished.

I have a bit of content left to produce for the phone and the free roam events, but not a lot.

The final few percent of every update, or any project really, are the ones that take the longest time. But rest assured that every day we're one day closer to the release of "Episode 6 - Damage control".

Have a nice weekend

From the looks of this I'd say Nov 6th is probably looking most likely now. If we take the fact that it sounds like they'll be playtesting the game before all renders and animations are included, then they'll surely have to playtest again after they've added them, and then they've also set aside 2 weeks for the beta testers after which they'll have to polish and correct anything they find. So all-in-all, that could be probably take another 4 weeks.
