Unlocked

I worked on the big free-roam event all week and estimate I'm ~70% finished with it. To some of you, it might feel like I've been stuck here for a while, but there are plenty of scenes and characters in it and I can assure you that everything is going forward at a good pace.
The free-roam has 771 renders, and I have 15 scenes left to work with before I can move on to something else. 8 of those scenes need writing and art; the rest needs art.
I mostly posed static renders this week, but I also posed a longer animation that I think will come out great.
I also produced two new songs I wanted for two specific parts of the episode. I wasn't sure if I would make any new songs for this episode, but I love how these turned out.
Meanwhile, my PCs are slaughtering my render queue. 16 animations remain in the queue, but two are very long, making up for ~3000 frames together.
I have counted six lewd scenes left to create for this episode, and I plan to work on some of them after the free-roam event to get more animations into the queue.
Have a nice weekend

There's not been enough numbers in recent updates to make accurate tables to predict the date.
Yes, when DPC makes a post with real numbers, we could make better suggestions about a release date (unless he extends cause there is another thing he wants to add and then another and ... :sneaky:).

Here's a simple heuristic function for determining how long each update will take:

Average current dev time in months + number of minigames + (level of rig - DPC's compulsion to make more elaborate animations) = total dev time in months :Kappa:

You can effectively sub out the last addition with zero, FYI.

last update was about 4-5 hrs of playtime since i took my time with it...times 5 different LI paths..plus a few different endings on the others path..so average playtime maybe 30-35 hrs total from 1 update..i say that's pretty damn good for a once to twice a year update..plus i played through the Zoey episode a few times too. so definately one of the best devs out there for quality. the only issues for me are some parts of the story i don't like too much. but hey it's his game so he writes it how he wants.

People who were saying a summer release were delusional and really don't understand DPC and the current state of the game. Each episode is going to take more time, not less. For every corner DPC cuts with faster cards and completed code, he piles on twice as much work to counter the gains. Also, it's in his best interest to drag BaDIK out for as long as possible.

I think on the Reddit sub many were saying June/July even up to a few weeks ago. When episode 9 released, I said beta testing begins in Sept, release in Oct, and I still might be undercutting it but I'll stick with my prediction for now. 9 months is the standard release frame for an episode and unless DPC changes (ha) that's where we are now.
