Yeah, that's exactly what I see as well.
What gets me to think about my question is what Dawe is looking from the bus as he passes by the DIK mansion at the end of episode 9. I believe there is also a DIK hanging around there too. I'm not convinced that Dawe would be the selfish one, however.

While on morbid topics, something else that creeps me out is one of Lily's clucks during episode 9 when she replies to Elena. "Don't shoot me" and then "Don't fall for me" later. Vinny isn't a happy guy the last we saw and Lily is pretty cocky. I think we are supposed to assume the Lily and Elena Rooster exchange is centered around the Vodka squirt gun, but I have to wonder. Then there is the MC and Elena conversation in the bathroom/wash closet regarding "Demigod", "nemesis", and "coming around my town".

Since AL, I'll admit DPC has left me a bit shell shocked. I've only played that game once...

For the supposed "lighter" shade being thrown on this game, there's still plenty of fucked up shit:
  • Mc's mom (Lynette) died giving birth to him and his dad (Neil) cries every year on his birthday.
  • One of the main LI's (Jill) sister (Lana) dies in her late teens/early 20s for reasons unknown to us yet.
  • One of the side character's (Quinn) dad (Rox) dies from a cocaine overdose (speculation at this point).
  • One of the main LIs (Bella) has significant mental health issues due to a marriage breakdown involving factors we don't understand yet.
  • One extremely stupid girl (Arieth) is now pregnant and assumes another extremely idiotic guy (Dawe) is the father. That kid is fucked! (There's your candidate for suicide!)
  • A homophobic father (Patrick) is using financial blackmail to control his daughter's (Maya) sexuality.
  • A teacher (Cathy) has a naked photo of her posted all around campus and is humiliated to the extent that she resigns.
  • An angry cunt (Emma) misunderstands a situation and spitefully uploads another girl's (Zoey) topless photos onto social media.
  • A female professor's (Jade) professor husband (Stephen) is cheating on her with college students (Riona, Mel, Sarah) and making her feel worthless.
  • A girl (Mona) ends up in a situation where she is supposed to fuck one of her college professors (Stephen), but she backs out and feels pressured to leave the college for good.
  • A girl (Quinn) is coercing other girls (Mona, Cammy and others) into prostitution for her own financial gain.
  • A girl (Riona) has been told she is useless to the extent that she has lost faith in her own abilities and she just sleeps with anyone to feel self worth.
  • A gay guy (Chad) leads a girl (Sage) on in a relationship purely to hide the fact that he is gay from his friends (Dawe et. al.) and others.
  • A guy (Derek) sticks another guy's (Tybalt) toothbrush up his ass so the next time the dude is brushing his teeth it will be with shit flakes. That's pretty fucking traumatic if you ask me!
  • Lots of people are cheating on other people.
  • A guy (Tybalt) blackmails a girl (Jill) he likes into dating her by threating an unrelated lawsuit against the mc.
  • A drug dealer (Vinny) threatens the mc with a gun.
  • A girl (Quinn) is physically attacked and robbed on the street.
  • One girl (Sally) is mean to everyone. Like really fucking mean!
So yeah, with potentially 4 deaths (Lynette, Lana, Rox and Bella's husband), a suicide could be in the mix.
The biggest tragedy of the game is that Riona can't cum! MC is trying so hard to fuck her, she's close, but she can't cum! I think if a chick like Riona can't come by the end of the game, it would be more drama than killing someone from LI!
This dude definitely can't fuck! Use your fingers, idiot!

arduous reading....

about AL you wrote several inaccuracies, but they are not important.

I agree overall that Maya is the canonical MG of the story, especially in the first season, where the trouple story could have ended, downgrading all the other girls to secondary temptations. Josy is brought in tow by Maya, but her importance is not comparable. ok she is the first MC crush, but that's pretty much where it ends.

when you write a story with forks you always start from the main story on which more or less important grafts are made, the main story is that of Maya who, because of her father, ends up clashing with the issue of free tuition and everything that comes with it.

but from the point of view of MC's involvement in the story Sage plays a very important role, she is basically the reason why MC is involved in practically every story and every girl in the BR:
if MC didn't meet Sage in the coffee shop he wouldn't turn against Chad and thus the Jocks
without turning against the Jocks he wouldn't be attacked in front of Jill and therefore wouldn't know her
he wouldn't suffer the guitar theft that leads him to devote himself to not being able to room with Troy and therefore "forces" him to have to join the DIKs
he would have virtually no reason to know and hang out with Bella: not hanging out with Jill and not getting caught naked on campus
he would have no need to shack up with Maya

almost everything that happens to MC starts from the interaction with Sage, without which everything in season 2 makes much less sense.

much less central are Jill and Bella who constitute almost a microworld of their own, Jill serves to create connections with the Preps and Tybalt (however secondary at least for now) and maybe she will play a role in uncovering MC's family history (probable but I'm not convinced, since it's not canon for MC to see Jill's house) while Bella lives even more in a circumscribed world that hardly integrates with the other LIs (Jill's friend, Sage's tutor and then??)
I think you pay too much attention to meeting Sage. It's the usual plot twist. Sage could have been Heather and the guy could have been Tommy. That's how MC would have met Tommy and joined the fraternity. Maya was really the main star of the first season, but in the second season she is almost invisible. In season two, she was squeezed out by Bella and Quinn. I think Josy and Maya's line will really be important in the plot. But only because DPC can't think of another story arc that doesn't revolve around Maya and Josy.

certainly it's a narrative strategem, we're talking about a narrative, but the confrontation with the Jocks is instrumental in routing MC's life at BR
absolutely it would have been much more natural for him to become a Jock than a DIK
but his confrontation with Chad, and consequently Dawe and associates marks his fate directly and indirectly in a very strong way.

For me, in general, the second season runs pretty wild.

Things happen and eventually there's Bella and Jill's first time, with a lot of time lost in between

I'm not gonna lie. I've read everything but the fifth section. Your post is very long, so I've decided to skip the more subjective part of your text. The facts that you've presented to us interest me more than the more subjective part, which section 5 introduces.

I am still not very sure that comparing this game to DPC's previous one, even if they have more or less obvious similarities, is worth it. I mean... This game is so, so huge... Ep. 9 alone has a larger render count than AL as a whole.

Anyway, to me it does not matter the whole concept of übermain girl vs the rest much. At the end of the day, every one of us has his/her favorite girl(s) for whatever reason(s), and that's it.

But from your post I can tell how much you love the game, how much you admire DPC's creation and how much you've worked to bring us this huge post. For that, you have my sincere respect.

One final (minor) correction (I hope you don't mind it). It is about Acting Lessons. Even if you go for Rena, Liam can survive. And here it's the proof:

I thought it was all over, but you posted a screenshot of the Acting Lessons ending and it started again. Fucking PTSD. After all this years

almost everything that happens to MC starts from the interaction with Sage, without which everything in season 2 makes much less sense.
Sage is also the only LI who has a direct relationship with all of the other LIs (as well as a fair number of side girls). Bella is her advisor for her thesis and Bella is very impressed with her; she is sorority president for Maya and Josy, she knows about their romantic relationship, she convinced Josy and Maya to stick with the HOTs and unsuccessfully intercedes on Maya's behalf on the scholarship issue, plus they had all that drunken flirtation at the Halloween party; and as of episode 9 Sage now has a common bond with Jill (both are econ majors, come from a wealthy and influential family background and have a mutual hatred of Tybalt, along with Jill's willingness to help Maya out where Sage failed), a friendship that should expand now that they got past their prejudices about each other and work together to solve Maya's money problem.

Josy and Maya have little relationship with Bella other than as students in her class while she substitutes for Cathy, and Maya and Jill are just acquaintances due to Josy's friendship with Jill. Sage is a link between all of them.

I didn't associate myself too much with any of the girls except for Sage, Quinn and Riona. Quinn because I wanted to get to know more about Riona and Sage, so I could stay there to try and get closer to Riona. So, I really don't think Maya, Josy or any of the girls mean shit to the storyline in my opinion. But I stopped playing a few eps before 'Interlude' came out. So not sure wtf is going on in the game anymore.

You should write game reviews. I think I suddenly like BaDIK more.

Holy crap!
I actually understand the game better now! :ROFLMAO:
For the most part, I've ignored a lot of the complex parts of the story to just concentrate on relationships with the girls. Now I get some of the stuff I never paid attention to.

Patrick would likely have a problem his daughter staying at her boyfriends he wouldn't want her having sex before marriage since he is religious even under the pretense they would sleep in different beds he wouldn't be ok with it. Pete on the other hand I think would be ok with it
Patrick, however, would be faced with the choice of whether his daughter has a girlfriend or boyfriend. Which do you think Patrick will prefer? Likewise, Derek should not be left out of the equation. The MC got Derek's blessing and if the MC was faithful, Patrick will find out from Derek.

I think with so Patrick doesn't want some macho guy for Maya, but with a reasonable guy, Patrick would be fine.

Man, I'm looking forward to Maya finally freeing herself of Patrick's influence and telling him to go fuck himself. BTW, it would be absolutely golden if in the end he turned out to be a repressed gay.

I don't think there are many fathers of teenager girls who are particularly happy to hear that their daughters are having sex, but that has never stopped anyone. :ROFLMAO:

then considering in the specific case how quietly the terrible control freak agreed to his daughter sharing a room with a boy she had never seen before, I don't think it would be a particular drama to know that she also does it with her boyfriend

he agreed but still wanted Maya to have her own room so maybe Maya father would agree to Maya staying at MC but he would do a lot of bitching about it and might cause problems. I still think Pete would be more ok with Josy and MC

The ones who took their daughter's cell phone away and grounded her because she had dinner with a friend in the house?

maybe yes, maybe no

Patrick would hate both choice's he might be more likely to agree to Maya and MC, but that doesn't mean he would be happy with it. I can see him agreeing to Mc staying at their place since he could put MC and Maya in different rooms, he couldn't do that if Maya went to Mc's

Pete did invite Mc to come home with Josy. Surely Pete is smart enough to figure his little girl loves this guy she been talking about. I would assume that Josy was grounded because she fucking in her parents bed not just because she was having sex I mean that pretty kinky
