I can't speak for him, but I'd trade the DnG for a few extra scenes with the main girls any time, these scenes don't have to drive the main story or be sexual, just a nice interaction with a certain LI. Like guitar lesson with Sage at the HOTS backyard after the end of Hell Week, or sitting on a bench with Quinn, or something like that.
350 renders is what many devs would consider to be good performance for a month of work. And what does a DnG session add, besides the lewds with Sally and the annoying change of story setting? I could live with that if it was a plot device, to naturally bond with the nerd girls for example, but so far it looks like a waste of time.
EDIT: Okay, maybe I jumped to conclusions, I read your original post on the topic, and it's a quite interesting take on DnG as an allegory for the main story events. But I'll still fast-forward it on every playthrough

This is the usual development window for this game unfortunally.
The game updates are huge and DPC like to add things that make the wait times grow like long animations, new types of minigames and several other details and easter eggs.
Is the wait worth it? For me absolutely, but it still sucks.

Because of the branches, I suppose.
It takes place after Halloween, so the next big event is Thanksgiving. Assuming B&R gives some time off, things will be very different for the different branches which means way more renders and text (and code in general) than just a simple additional "Hangout with Sage". Just couple of options that come to my mind for the others branch:
- Visit your dad alone
- Visit your dad with someone (Zoey?)
- Stay on the campus with some people
- Do something with Josy (who couldn't be invited to Maya's and doesn't fancy being with Tommy and Monica)
- Thanksgiving getaway with Jade / Nicole
- Something else you guys can think of
