In episode 3 we find out that Quinn has come up short in her drug dealing proceeds:

But we know why they're short. Quinn is not paying for what we uses. In episode 5 she tells Tommy it's Riona who is doing that, and Riona gets upset when she hears this (in episode 9) because she always pays.
In episode 5 Quinn has organised the girls hang out at the Prep's party.
The morning after the party Quinn makes the call to Buddy to let him know she's got the cash now.
On this call she doesn't mention a name, money or place an order, like you said, "Absolutely nothing that could lead to Buddy." that's kinda how I'd handle my phone calls if I was a drug dealer... and Quinn doesn't order drugs over the phone, she tells Buddy what she wants when she hands in the cash from the previous sales, on this call she's just letting Buddy know she's got the cash now (since she didn't have it before).
Plus, there's no way what's she's talking about is a book. "...don't worry... I have it now. All of it."
