While today update is underwhelming it has some useful info.

The size of the static queue (250 renders) plus the fact the animation queue is fairly large (probably 30+)

There have been much worse reports data wise.

I honestly prefer getting something every week, even if it sometimes isn't much.

Saying "update is underwhelming" is putting it mildly.

And this whole new culture of "oh well even if it's so little we have to be grateful" is a new level of brown-nosing and acceptance of getting less and being happy with it. This new tactic of DPC to keep progress numbers hidden is nothing short of a way to discourage people from getting a proper development map, so players get even more "edgy" about how most likely Ep12 will fall close to a 2 yr dev cycle.

If anything, it's going to have the opposite effect if DPC thought obscuring numbers would have a positive outcome. And this has already begun, and I don't mean myself. I'm actually late to that party by several months.

That's the only time they listen. When their profits fall below what they think is acceptable is when they clean the wax out of their ears and pretend to give a shit about you and listen. And there are two sides of the coin, devs who tend to listen to their communitys (too much) are rarely successful as they compromise their vision for money (just look at all the devs adding ntr for example because they have two whales into it or whatever).

But also, when dev cycles get this long, having a rough idea of where progress is at is an excellent way to squelch the "When's the next update coming?" gang.

And I also agree with devs giving into compromising their vision of their product, typically ends up chasing the main player base away, for the pleas of a minority. And it's not because that minority cries and screams the loudest that it means they have to be catered to. Young devs need to learn that if they want to succeed. But DPC is anything but a young dev.

DPC has said this before, hes not going back to work on this after the VN is finished, so we should be happy that he wants to do massive updates. Its gonna be over one day... and yeah he is not forcing anyone to sub to his patreon, ppl do it because they are addicted to this fine ass game
