Eh, I have a friend who experienced something similar to Maya's story - in a lesbian relationship for a few years, comes to university and finds herself pursued by multiple guys, ends up marrying one of them after cheating on her then girlfriend with him.

Personal anecdotes aside, Maya in my eyes is very believable character. Her relationship isn't going well, with her exchanging angry / nasty messages with her girlfriend due to the strain of long range relationship. Maya hasn't met a guy who she is interested in and has interpreted that as her being lesbian. Then the MC comes and shakes up that belief. Her mind is against it, but it feels right to her, adding to the confusion.

You don't need crazy for that. Just confused young adults seaching for themselves in a completely new environment and mostly new people.
I too find Maya to be a very believable character and a sympathetic one at that. I've always felt like she's a victim of circumstance and so too her feelings for Josy were based on her circumstances.

It would seem that Maya has come from a very religious household with a somewhat controlling and very devout Dad, and that she never really had much chance to express herself. So there was probably some emotional and psychological repression going on with her, and people like that will often latch on to anyone who gives them some kind of positive affirmation which they don't get at home.

She mentions that she had gone on dates with a couple of guys but that she'd only ever been with a girl, that girl being Josy, so perhaps things simply didn't click with these guys on an emotional level but they did with Josy because perhaps she gave her this positive affirmation she was craving and thus Maya developed romantic feelings for her. Maya would then have taken this to mean that she is gay, but a connection like this with Josy would have been one born out of circumstance and not necessarily indicative of Maya's sexual orientation as there simply hadn't been any guys who elicited those same sorts of feelings.

Enter the MC. He is there for her when she most needs it, having seemingly lost her two most significant relationships with her parents and Josy, and he gives her affection, vaildation, and comfort somewhat unconditionally, as well not judging her too harshly. So this essentially unlocks hetero feelings that Maya didn't think she had and it confuses her because she thought she was gay when it may just have been a case of having a lack of options that formed her feelings for Josy.

So, in my view, Maya was never actually gay, she only assumed she was because she formed an emotional connection with Josy that developed into romance. But had the MC, or a guy like him, been there for Maya at the time Josy was, then she would be in a relationship with them and consider herself straight.

come on no ... it seems a bit extreme

so Maya didn't even choose her sexuality? also in that did she accept others decision?

because of that choice, her relationship with her father was ruined (without simultaneously saving his relationship with Josy). I hope she was at least convinced of it

I'm gonna love to see the chaos on these forums when bella's husband returns. :)
We have an emperor (The fucking Karl Franz) with an axe waiting.
People came for the top tier art to fap but get addicted to the story and cast instead. There's hundreds of porn games on here but few have a script so well written and funny that you find characters being discussed 100x more than any sex scene in the game - its THAT good.

It also forces decisions and consequence so there is loads of replay value too in doing things different ways as whether your a saint, a bad boy or something in between the game doesn't let you have all your cake and eat it (it is NOT a harem game).
Neither it is an incest nor a NTR game, doesn't stop people from wanting to rob the bakery.
Judging by the number of wacko theories this thread permeates every 5 pages, I'd say brain isn't required either. :)
It is required, just that these theorists forgot to bring it.
the bad reputation of DPC
Er.. what bad reputation? Sorry I came in without knowing any of his reputation.
Well, well, well, looks like Quinn's going to be meeting with her dealers, or at least the grunts who work for the big boss.

Shit's about to get real.
Cue Quinn walking under the rain pic. By the way is that a new side chick waiting for our MC to rescue?
It wasn't. It was necessary to keep the incest box of Pandora out of the way... :D
But people keep looking for it and try to open it anyway...
Weird. If it weren't for the fact the tattoo is in the wrong place, I'd swear that was Dawe on the chair. Does he have a twin brother, too?
I thought it was a glimpse into the future of Dawe at first.

People don't choose their sexuality, and neither did Maya in this scenario. What I'm saying is that it's possible that Maya, in a conscious or subconscious need for validation, found that with Josy and it formed her romantic feelings for her thus making her view herself as gay.

It wouldn't have been a choice to be gay, it would be that this was likely the first real romantic connection that she had formed with anyone, but if the person who had there for her at that time had been a guy like the MC then those romantic feelings might have developed for him. This theory somewhat aligns with why she seems to have fallen for the MC despite seemingly being gay, because she actually isn't gay and instead simply hadn't met a guy yet that could make her feel such an attraction towards them.

but there in my opinion it is the fault of the long wait for the next chapter and secondly of the bad reputation of DPC..

DPC has a bad reputation in the sense that everyone expects very dramatic twists, with deaths of important characters etc ..

and for this the rule is that everything is possible, even the most unlikely event

If only the game is like SpacecorpsXXX
"I am gay"
"I am not gay"
Once you choose the pink option, Derek will be fuckable. Otherwise, Jamie and Leon (Edit: and Chad) will not appear in the game.

don't give too much weight to the words that I choose, that I barely know 100 in English ..:(

you don't choose to be gay, but once you are aware of it, you choose to hide it and pretend to be straight with the outside world, or live your gay being, not with anyone but at least with the people close to you
Maya makes this choice, at least with her father, her brother etc

as you put it, however, in the end Maya chooses to be gay, not to dismiss Josy, taht falls back in the cliché of the girl who is never master of her destiny in anything
the same dynamic would then also apply to the relationship with MC, also in that case she chose that she could be bisexual, otherwise MC could have moved away

would be further steps back for a character who has so far revealed very little about herself, a part from being broken

Yeah, I really find it weird how so many still insist on Maya being gay even after her experience with MC.
You either are or you're not. She's emotionally and physically attracted to MC which proves that she's bisexual and probably always was. How is this still being debated and argued?

having sex with both a man and a woman does not make you bisexual

Skipping past the whole dodgy topic of inherent, learned or mistaken sexual identities as that can only derail this very badly.....

Placing Maya in the bottom of my list isn't because she's not believable. It's just on the weight of facts - I don't particularly want to go down that path.

- She's my best Bro's sister
- Her response to relationship troubles is sending abusive texts and messages
- Her decisions seem to be based on whoever talks to her last

So as there are other options and I can choose to keep my distance, I do.

If I was forced down the path of Maya like we were for Meghan in AL then I'd probably not be Patreoning or all that intrested in the development of the game.

I think that probably once MC is only friends with the two girls (without offering them anything more) it will be difficult to reopen a love route, without your precise choice
