But seriously. When is someone gonna step up and buy the 40 dollar render? I would but Gabe Newell bent my wallet over a barrel with the lunar sale and im down to my last box of kraft mac n cheese.

You say it like it isn't a worthy use of money.

maybe she was already in queue as soon cathy resigned she was assigned?
Could be, could be. Dunno why they'd already have one in queue, though. But then I know jack shit about school/college/uni organazational stuff.

Also, the other thing about that image of GlassesChick is the composition of the image. Its a night time/dark time image in what looks like a personal area, like a home or dorm room. Unless we're already going to be getting down with the replacement teacher right off the bat, seems unlikely the GlassesChick is Cathy's replacement.

Nah bruh it's Jill's older sister, you can kinda see a resemblance.
Yeah, my guess is its a flashback scene with Jill's sister or something.

Eh, I've been a $10 sub to him for nearly a year and a half (although I've dropped this to $1 for the past 2-3 months) and I don't think he's ever actually said that. Everytime he's made a big jump in performance or when he went full time, he's said. That being said, I am also also quite disappointed that the average release time has went from 3 months to roughly 5-6 months now. Then again, you also have to think that the game's render amount and quality, number of animations + length, and overall polishing has increased significantly. Just for example, your first date with Josy in Episode 1 has some pretty good awful lighting (specifically the part where the MC and her smile at the camera for a photo) compared to what we get now. Music has also made leaps and bounds.

And it's not like you're missing out anything. You still get the full episode at the same time as everyone else (within a couple of days or so depending on your tier). The only thing that you're lacking are those special renders he produces for the 75$ club, but you're paying for the exclusivity. If you paid that much money for something, would you really be willing to share it for free?

Not to mention that you really, really don't want to rush a creative process. A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is always bad. And this isn't the kind of game that he can ever patch, or not within reasonable bounds in my opinion.

Perhaps I've just been burned a bit too hard by CP2077, but so far I've been really happy with his work.

That said, I also thought the extended DnD portion last episode was kind of pointless and not very fun. But it was interesting and new, so I'll give him that.
This is more or less my view. I've only been following the game since last March, but from what I've seen DPC has been pretty consistent in prioritizing quality over update speed. The waiting sucks, but thus far I can't say the product hasn't delivered; even Episode 5 (my least favorite by far) still had a solid amount of content and a few great scenes in it.

But just for fun, I went ahead and tracked the ratio of static and animation renders per day spent in development for each Episode (except #1, of course). There's not a whole lot of variation through Episode 6, but the numbers for Episode 7 (per the last update) are interesting:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
The first projection takes the totals from DPC's last update and assumed the game launched two weeks later (February 26) to account for beta testing. As you can see, DPC's static render rate for Episode 7 is currently the highest it's ever been by a thin margin, and his animation render rate is through the roof.

The second projection assumes DPC works until ~March 26, then releases on April 9 (with 230 animations and 4150 static renders). That would bring his animation rate back down to earth, but overall DPC would still be way ahead of any previous pace. Obviously updates and guesswork are no substitute for actual data, but I think it's fair to say concerns that DPC isn't putting effort into BaDIK are overblown. His priorities might not match our own, but it seems to me he's working as hard as ever on the game.

As for the $40 preview, I'm certainly not interested in paying for it. I do think it's a mistake to put the basic updates behind a paywall, but it's his call. He certainly doesn't need the publicity, and at least that wall is about as short as possible. If DPC wants to sequester a small number of preview images for a higher price point, more power to him; I'll eventually see them when they actually matter. It would be nice to see it sooner and speculate like mad, but the odds are good that DPC chooses images that will be misleading out of context. :p

is Tybalt jade's son or something because in the episode where jade throws things towards her husband in the background it shows the picture of her, Tybalt ,and her husband?

The $40 tier is a bit worrying. People always say DPC isn't trying to squeeze dollars out of this game, but some things point to the opposite. 1) When he quit his job and did this full time, he said releases would be more frequent. That hasn't been the case. 2) When he got the new tech, he said it would allow him to release episodes more frequently. That's not the case. 3) He now has a $40 tier for promotional materials, which is not only bad marketing, it's also a bit of a cash grab.

I really, really enjoy this game, but the lack of more frequent releases and a growing influence on monetizing the game is worrying. A $40 tier member is paying $200 per episode. It's your money, so do what you want, but he's eventually going to tap out on support if he's only releasing episodes every 5 months for the next 4-5 years.
Right on point.

One thing you will learn on these forums is that Josy fans are almost as bad as Jill fans. Those 2 definitely have the most annoying fanbases.
Forget the fanbases. I can tolerate them. This thread is plagued with unfunny Jill futa/incest jokes, dumb theorys that completely contradict the game's story, cringy jokes about an irrelevant minor side girl who likely won't play any role in the story at all, and don't even get me started on the way some people pass off their dumb theory's as fact when discussing future events. I'm surprised the mods haven't nuked this thread.

Don't get me wrong I like to joke and shit post and what not but my goodness it's easy see to why this thread has so many pages.

Theorycrafting is fine, it generally gives people stuff to do while waiting for new updates but you have some people who come in here and do nothing but post x girl is best, over and over and over and over again and that's the reason the futa Jill stuff started, regular folks had to combat the Jill fanbase and that was the only thing that seemed to work.
