Just found something that could indicate a 2 year time jump in BaD.

Or just a completely innocuous reference to the fact that Americans can't (legally) drink until they are 21.
My understanding as to the first is that he is not. And as to the second - that's the point. Most of the world recognises 18 as the legal age of adulthood. But the game is set in the US, and they have some weird hangups, which extend to the legal drinking age being distinct from everything else. Thus the reference from MC's father. There's a weird limbo between supposedly becoming an adult at 18 and actually fully being one legally at 21 which the MC is currently right in the middle of.

A time skip makes no sense. Half the cast would disappear off-screen during the skip because they graduated.
Those sentences in context:

Dad: "Happy birthday, son. 19! The year that brings..."
Dad: "...well basically not a lot left to bring until you're 21, I guess."
Dad: "In fact, I can't come up with a single thing that changes when you turn 19..."
mc: "Hm..."
mc: "Last year as a teenager?"
Dad: "There you go! That's a good one."
Dad: "And unless you live to be 113, it's the truth."

We know for a fact that 21 is how old the mc needs to be in order to drink, that whole scene at the bar with Sandy and Nicole hammers that home, spo that's why the dad points that out as the next age milestone (but in the context of the game, the next milestones that matter are the penetration of Bella and Jill).

So all the dad is saying is that turning 19 doesn't change your life much. Maybe the game will jump 94 years because the dad also mentioned turning 113...

Seriously Dalli, so much of the conversation that takes place in the game is to be taken at face value. The game isn't riddled with hidden and double meanings. What makes the game so easy to replay is the conversation is real and flowing, not pretentious nor convoluted.

I understand you like to dream up all this shit to fill in the gap between the episodes, but have any of your theories ever been on the money?
Not sure where the D&G hate is coming from. You do remember that we got to see a scantily clad Sally, right? Spanking and playing her ass like a set of bongos....? If we have more D&G later on, it might be a vehicle to see KRJ in tattered rags or a bar wench's get-up. :geek:

Yeah, I get it. It's not for everyone. I dig it because it's a neat way to see familiar characters doing and wearing different things. Every story needs variety to shake things up, as I see it.
I don't believe there is all that much DnG hate, just a vocal minority who voice their dislike of it on occassion. DnG is almost the only interaction the mc has with the nerds and it's very funny. The sex component is the least important part of it, but people tend to focus on how the sex isn't really between characters, so it is a waste of time.

When I posted all the Sally highlights, it was obvious that people did enjoy it.

The hate seems primarily focused around the idea that the sex which happens during D&G isn't 'real' and therefore doesn't 'really happen'

  • One, this is fucking stupid as none of it is real therefore none of it really happens.

  • Two, the fact that Maya and Josy act differently towards the MC's bard's lusty ways depending on their relationship status 'irl' so it plays into the story.

  • Three, as was pointed out when that upate was posted, the amount of 'irl' sex the MC could have at the Prep's party was ridiculous. Maya/Josy, Sage, Lily, Camilla (and maybe Riona?). D&G fixes this since people can have infinite imaginary sex

"The plot is absurd, there is some kind of trash going on around and completely implausible actions from students (some kind of running around with a dildo on the head, stealing panties ... plot lines of the kindergarten level)."

The author creates a game based on American college comedies. If "running with a didlo" can still be called an artistic exaggeration, then "panties theft" quite realistically fits into this genre.
Whoever said the part in "" better never watch Porkies

exactly

we'd miss Sage, Jill, Tommy, Rusty, and for what? To see MC drinking "legally" in a pub?

The word hate in a game is always exaggerated and inappropriate.

but D&G, of course for me, remains completely useless, it can even be enjoyable (such as seeing the renders made by fans), apart from the absurdity of MC, who having to choose how to spend a couple of hours, rather than having sex with anyone chooses to roll two dice... believable...

the first game was a fun novelty, the second a stopgap in a fairly empty chapter. in the fifth chapter we had a mega free roam at the Preps party, in the seventh another at the HOTs party, in the sixth we threw Sally into a bush. AMAZING!!!

you could do worse, the diary for example...

I personally did not care for the D&G stuff as it in no way advanced the story. It was like a fluffer for a porn movie. It kept the juices ready, but not really providing much in the way of a satisfying ending.
Just my opinion. I would rather have been on the roof fornicating with Quinn and getting high....
Even on a Chik path.
Peace

For me problem was not D&G but the fact that it took almost all sex scenes from that episode, it looked kinda out place.

But that is exactly the point. There will be a lot of people who won't be around. Tommy, Rusty, Jill, Sage, etc.
....
You're reading too much into something, that's plainly obvious otherwise. DPC's nationality has nothing to do with the game setting, which is obviously the US, as the most familiar globally (unfortunately). The reference is obviously to the legal drinking age, regardless if MC drinks even before then or not.

As for your theory, it doesn't hold at all, since a 2 year time jump would mean we either have completely no control over the narrative, or the relationships just freeze for a couple of years. Either way is going to be extremely bad for an interactive game.

is there a walkthrough mod for mac version? Or a good walkthrough for me to follow? OR better yet a way for me to get the one by scrappy to work for mac?
Try this walkthrough, it's really good and easy to understand
My walkthrough focuses on the player’s choices and features many links and references to better understand their longterm consequences in the game.

I wrote my own guide first because I find Being a DIK interesting and because the official one is sometimes confusing while omitting some useful data. Whether you want to maximize your success with the love interests, or you are playing the game for the first time, this document will answer your questions. Thanks for adding a Like if you value it.
Good game to you!

You can read it and download it (40MB) on

Last revision

Summer has been busy and the guide expanded with new content!
  • Added Rewards list with the details on how to unlock them.
  • Added Wallpapers list with the details on how to unlock them.
  • DIK house makeover” guide allows you to achieve the minigame without having to keep reloading your save.
  • Made Special events timeline now clickable.
  • The most convoluted parts have been edited and many info sections written.
To moderators: I would be grateful if you could add the link inside the opening post.

At the main menu of Being A DIK, you are able to see a couple of background renders of characters who are in the game.
I remember once to have seen a background render with Bella in it wearing a red dress, sitting on her grey couch whilst holding a glass of red wine. Since then it never reappeared, does anyone have that render which I'm referring to?
