So. His father tells Tremolo that he is the only heir to his mother Lynette's family. This means that he has no uncles and aunts. And only his grandparents. But why now? It is obvious that Lynette's father is already old and very ill, since he sent such a gift for Tremolo's birthday. I expect that we will be introduced to his grandfather. But in general, it's strange to think that Lynette's parents had only one daughnter. If Tremolo refuses the inheritance, then the family will be interrupted.

I was exactly the opposite, back in late 2017 & early 2018 this site is full of mindless fapfest VN with little to no story, narrative or characterization. I didn't mind because I wasn't looking for anything but that. Then I saw Depraved Awakening and thought AVN could be something more. Then Acting Lessons appeared and it was the trigger that pulled into actually discussed stuff here instead of just asking "update when?" "how to unlock this scene?".

And finally, here comes BaDIK which for me is still the pinnacle of adult visual novel. Never it crossed my mind back then there would be something like Being A DIK on this site, Porn Visual Novel with AAA vibe. And I agree with your sentiment that BaDIK ruins 99% other VNs for me.

Disagree. There are a lot of good ones nowadays. The Deluca Family, Chasing Sunsets, Summer's Gone, Now and Then, A Mothere's Love, A.o.A, Bad Memories, Become a Rock Star, City of Broken Dreamers, Callisto, Glimpses of the Past, Halfway House, Hillside, Intertwined, Leap of Faith, Life Happened, Midlife Crisis, Pale Carnations, Powers that Be, Price of Power, Ripples, Tales from the Unending Void, The Intoxicating Flavor, WVM and Life with Mary.

I've tried at least a quarter of that list.

I need a solid plot or solid lewds w/ a strong preference for both otherwise other mediums beat out the VN format.

A terrible story with good lewds = I'd rather just watch porn.
A great story with terrible lewds (or none) = I actually read books and would rather just do that.

EDIT: I do want to say there are some good ones in there I would recommend though, like City of Broken Dreamers.

But yeah, BADIK still better than all of those as a whole so far.

But COBD has a better story than Badik tho. Even hillside does. BaDIK's story isn't anything special up till now. I mean the school/college setting has been done to death by now.

Also, BaDIK's MC is meh.

I've played both of these and ehh.

A different type of story? Granted.
A better story? Disagree.

There is no mystery to the plot of CoBD nor Hillside; what you see is what you get and they take zero effort to obfuscate their plotlines nor archetypes. You can tell what's coming from a mile away and generally how the actors will react because of the shallow characterization.

Being a Dik is most definitely not a perfect story but it does a great job at obfuscating the narrative in a way that makes you second guess your initial impressions, hides a good bit of information through subtle character interactions (love this) and background details, keeps an expanding list of potential plotlines which allows DPC to subvert expectations, etc...

Being a Dik just does a lot right that the overwhelming majority of VN devs, in my opinion, do an awful job at.

Exactly. The game is very balanced. The plot, characters, sex are all harmoniously intertwined. Of course, this is primarily a porn game and all the plot moves work exactly as its should. We have to get sex and we get it, but the plot justifies it wonderfully. Of course, I would like to get more dirty and rough sex, such as an episode with a TV presenter from COBD, or so that the hero does not get girls so easily.

I downloaded it from steamunlocked. It said it goes up to episode 7, but it was just up to episode 4. I actually have no idea if its the steam or patreon version. Where can I look it up?

Never heard of Steam Unlocked, but my guess is that it's the Steam version of the game. You'll either need to replay the game or, as I said, wait until season 2 gets released. Episode 8 is likely to be available here in another 4 to 6 weeks. Episode 8 is also the final episode of season 2, so DPC will release it on Steam probably 4 weeks or so later. How long it will take for it to appear on a site like Steam Unlocked, I couldn't say.

I don't really see it as all that unlikely, considering according to your timeline, ep7 covered 13 days. Thats half a month right there. Now that we're out of the Hell Week/Scavenger Hunt mode from the first 6 episodes, DPC isn't really beholden to sticking to a day-by-day progression. Skip some days again, and covering a month is easy.

in the seventh chapter there is an unidentified time jump which could be a few weeks or even a month, but otherwise it seems quite reliable.
