And despite Sage's so called anger issues she is awakened in the middle of the night and still offers the MC a place to stay when she understands that he feels like he has nowhere else to go.

Also, despite the MC stating several times that he doesn't want to discuss the matter, Maya pushes it in public and in the middle of class, it's almost discussion rape. As for the tears? Tears from a woman in the middle of an argument are nothing but manipulation. Women know how effective of a tool tears are and use them remorselessly.

No, in Episode 3 Sage will ask the MC point blank if he's only interested in teaching her guitar. If he says yes, she kicks him out and will not offer the MC a room during the Maya/Josy crisis. And that's AFTER the MC overheard Sage say she might have let Chad stay with her if he was willing to do his boyfriend duties, so it's not like I'm pulling the implication out of thin air.

Basically, if Sage can hide behind gameplay as a defense, why can't Maya?

Yes and that's another thing in proving Maya's selfishness. After MC is sexually assaulted, tased and kidnapped the first thing Maya says is 'will you help me' or words to that effect. She doesn't express any concern or remorse until called out on it. It's her first impulse or instinct to think of herself, even in a situation where she should be embarrassed or remorseful.

Usually the MC is the only decent guy in history. Or worse the only guy. Or the story makes it so that other guys don't see the same girls too much.

Do not despair, the story takes more and more space in this type of game, and I hope that soon the porn part will be incidental.

It reminds me of Eva Kiss who is going to reboot a character from ORS to make him a decent guy. So in the game we won't only have Ian as a good guy, and the rest a bunch of bastards or weirdo.

I'm a fan of Eva Kiss and used to follow ORS, but I disagreed with her on re-writing that particular character. He was only a side character and served as a good reflection on the MC Lena.

I'm also opposed to the trope of every single side character has to be a potential sex partner. I cringe everytime the cry goes up to make a sex scene for the Cafeteria Girl or the Gym Receptionist, just to give two examples from BaDIK

Aboiut BaDIK, it´s not the case. Tremolo has some fun and witty dialogues, so DPC knows how to write a good character. I think that cartoonish rivals are a convention of the genre, like magic cocks and female bi eager to engage in a threesome everywhere. And also, laziness. Again, it´s easier to write a Tybalt than a professor Moriarty.

in the beginning she was a nice fresh colleague who helps MC and there was a nice friendship/relationship between her and MC but after the maya/josie revelation and knowing that the evil religious father was kinda of blackmailing her, her story just went to shit. she is basically crying all the time about the tuition and how her dad is so evil and dont let her be a massive lesbian aww come on, cant you study for 3 years, get a job and then be a full metal lesbian and scissor every girl she want?

That's a good point, and I admit it is a thorny issue. On the one hand I do understand how people feel uncomfortable with the situation. But my main concern is the quality of AVN's. I want to see us come to a place where there are many well written AVN's available, where the market isn't flooded with simplistic or shallow stories. Dude, you gotta accept when people are trying to meet you halfway in these discussions.

Maya can be an annoying, whiny, pain in the ass. She has been selfish, and no one is denying this.

But she's not a monster either. She's a young woman whose dad has smothered her growth such that she isn't equipped to stand on her own two feet, or at least she doesn't think she is.

The whole tasering and stuff, while I joked about it earlier, Quinn and her cohort would have played it off as typical. They would have convinced her it was no big deal and Maya would have gone back to worrying about her own bullshit.

As far as she was concerned, all her eggs were in the HOTs free tuition basket, her life was basically on hold until she solved this big issue, and so her own problems are all she can think about.

She keeps doing this, thinking whatever it is, is her only chance, and like the mc says to her in the closing scene of episode 8, "I feel I've heard you say that before, Maya."

So yeah, she needs to calm the fuck down, think her options through carefully instead of these hairbrained schemes (and I can't see the Burkes are gonna hand her a silver bullet either).

So Maya has made a lot of mistakes in this story, and her inability to solve her own issues gets on some people's nerves, like really badly. But other people see her as someone who needs a break in life.

Every character in the game is flawed, and that's great, it's what makes them interesting and provides fodder for discussion. Unfortunately the discussions are typical so hyperbolic that people lose sight of what they are discussing:
